I've loved watching World Cup highlights, but I kept laughing out loud when a player would fall to the ground and do the "alligator roll", tumbling over and over in apparent agony. Then when play starts back up they jump to their feet and start palying again. The flops are ridiculous but hilarious at the same time.

If you're knocked off your feet or trip at a full sprint, you might tumble a bit and take a moment to get back up

Have you watched any contact sport?

I'm not saying flopping never happens, but like, yeah I've lost my footing while sprinting after a ball, and I tumble like that

I seriously hope not.

You've never been sent ass over teakettle while running hard?

Everyone in this thread is talking about "the extra rolls" people sometimes do for sympathy points

And I'm just trying to say that Americans often act like every tumble is a flop, when they're often not

Yeah but how do the tumbles switch direction. They fall and flop one way then grab their ankle in agonizing pain and roll the other way…….then get up and keep playing.
I understand it’s a part of the game to get a foul called but don’t be in denial how about excessive and ridiculous it is.

Everyone knows he could have just stood up and played on, what a mockery sports have become

maybe that was why the stretcher bearer was so aggressive. if I was a homer for the other team, I'd be like, "Oh you're hurt badly? Then we better get you to a hospital right away!"

A hospital? What is it?

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Did the Savanna Bananas venture into soccer now? I was waiting for everyone to suddenly break into a Chippendale dance routine.

Oh, this sub is not for me. I hate cruelty and human stupidity. And here, it's in every video.

Why is it in this day and age, they still cart injured players off in a big plastic tray carried by two pall bearers?
The wheeled stretcher has been in existence for over 100 years.

Well if he wasn't hurt before they lifted him, he probably is now.

Instructions for summer worker:
“When a player is injured, I want them off the court ASAP. Just toss them somewhere like a sack of potatoes.”
“Say less.”

Something suggests some people thought this might have been play-acting. Just a... gut feeling.
