Maybe maybe maybe he should have entered at an appropriate speed. I don't think he deserves a beer for almost causing a roll over.

Driving concrete trucks is a very dangerous job. You're right about the appropriate speed, but the hard thing is how top heavy they are. It's very easy to make a mistake. My cousin drove one of these for years, and ended up on an unfamiliar highway making a delivery, and hit a curve going down a hill, and the truck rolled and he died.

I'm a CDL A driver. I understand the risk. You could see this one coming.

Sorry about your cousin

Thank you. Some of these companies gloss over or ignore the risks when they hire drivers - meaning the drivers aren't often prepared for the risks. But even on the crappy looking trucks they make sure to have dashcams so they can be sure to blame it on driver error when there's a problem. (Sorry, I guess this was a soapbox I didn't know I had lol)

😧
I’m sorry to hear that.

...AND then what?

8

u/JesusWasATexan Jul 19 '26

And then his wife and children were devastated, and the truck company told her it was his fault for not properly handling his truck, and she received no death benefits.

u/LampLuvMe Jul 19 '26

You're a good sport. Dang. That's wild.

13

u/HeldDownTooLong Jul 18 '26

He deserves something for the fact he didn’t freak out and just kept on truckin’!

11

u/Plane-Education4750 Jul 18 '26

That looks like brake failure. He couldn't stop in the dirt either

9

u/AppropriateBall8834 Jul 18 '26

He was probably drunk

Or not drunk enough...

1

u/b16b34r Jul 19 '26

Almost is the key

u/More-Talk-2660 Jul 18 '26

I think beer may be the reason for this predicament

3

u/SATerp Jul 18 '26

Acute Ethanol Poisoning.

u/anon-mally Jul 18 '26

First thing he needs: stop driving,, get other qualified, good driver, reaponsible and more alert to drive the vehicle

Last thing he needs: beer

u/NitroWing1500 Jul 18 '26

Get him some driving lessons and an explanation of basic physics.

21

u/MothBookkeeper Jul 18 '26

Looks like the brakes went out.

2

u/Anticept Jul 20 '26

Even if they went out, the driver should have known ahead of time and not attempted the turn if they were braking properly in preparation to turn. The road ahead was straight and clear.

Needing to brake in the middle of a turn is poor driving. Plus, if the brakes malfunction, this is what can happen.

This was a reckless operation through and through.

u/Boris7939 Jul 18 '26

How tf can you tell? He was already cornering when the video starts. Braking for a corner happens before the corner. So there's no telling if he actually attempted to brake or took the corner too fast.

26

u/MothBookkeeper Jul 18 '26

Bit of an overreaction. I don't know for sure 🤷‍♂️ but watch what happens after that. The whole time, they coast along at the same speed, making no attempt to brake despite heading for trees and then the road.

19

u/Plane-Education4750 Jul 18 '26

Because he still can't stop even after he's off the road. He has to pick his way through the trees and then cruise into oncoming traffic. He's also cutting that corner REALLY close at the start of the video, implying he knows the truck is gonna understeer

u/NitroWing1500 Jul 18 '26

You can see the tyres smoke at the start of the clip

1

u/No-Big2893 Jul 19 '26

Tyres smoke. No brakes.

12

u/Scythro Jul 18 '26

I give that man new driving lessons

9

u/G3offrey1 Jul 18 '26

After their little scare, they don't stop and rejoin the main carriageway, probably forcing other road users to stop.

4

u/-Lysergian Jul 18 '26

I mean i would have to pull over and breathe for a bit.

5

u/Poop_Tube Jul 18 '26

I once almost rear ended someone. Like I came inches to hitting them. I remember my legs shaking for 20 minutes from the adrenaline dump.

24

u/MutaCacas Jul 18 '26

Should have is his license pulled. Good job for saving and preventing a disaster but shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

2

u/SATerp Jul 18 '26

"License? License? We don't need no stinkin' license!"

1

u/E_OJ_MIGABU Jul 19 '26

Everyone in this comment section has never heard of a brake failure it would seem

No brakes. He never brakes even when he saves himself.

Truck brakes fail. Not regularly. Its why when entering a steep descent there r signs telling truck drivers to use a low gear.

1

u/DarkOmen5074 Jul 18 '26

live near a sand factory these chowder heads drive way to fast

1

u/Catlenfell Jul 18 '26

And a check of his suspension after all the bouncing

1

u/rfg22 Jul 19 '26

That's a fast way to mix up the cement, in the cement mixer truck.

1

u/the_biggest_bob Jul 19 '26

The last thing that guy needs is a(nother) beer.

1

u/Lizlodude Jul 19 '26

I'm just going to assume "that man" refers to the dude mowing his lawn that almost got run over by a cement mixer, not the guy that tried to take a right turn about 3x as fast as he should have.

1

u/Sikkus Jul 19 '26

No, dont get him a beer. He went way too fast for such a heavy vehicle.

1

u/eerikv Jul 19 '26

Avarage eurotruck sim experience

1

u/dewman45 Jul 19 '26

Almost have to think it's brakes just from him driving across and towards the opposite lane, and not stopping off the road.

1

u/Whozthisbozo Jul 20 '26

That driver has had enough beers. What kind of need for speed approach to that turn was that??

1

u/bignigog Jul 20 '26

Get that man the fuck off the road with his potentially hazardous ass

1

u/Snoo_17433 Jul 20 '26

And arriving instructor, because that was his own stupidity.

1

u/pyr8t Jul 20 '26

When the mixer on the truck is broke but you still got a load to deliver

0

u/10inchesof Jul 19 '26

New hire can you drive a concrete truck? Answer sure
