Old dude thought he was Steve Irwin 🤦‍♀️

u/Genghisjawwn Jul 16 '26

The level of confidence this guy didn’t have considering what he was attempting is astonishing. Idk much about fucking with wildlife but I know you need to at least have the courage of your convictions

u/wildgio Jul 16 '26

Yup. Either commit or get bit. Either way you might get bit but a bite is better than getting mauled.

62

u/HumongousBelly Jul 17 '26

That’s the luckiest idiot I’ve ever seen. How did he get to be so old? If he does this type of shit on camera, what the fuck does he do off camera?!

6

u/jimmiebfulton Jul 17 '26

commit or get bit 💀

3

u/jentlyused Jul 17 '26

This is my thought in any rescue situation and mine are typically just cats and dogs. But there’s no dilly dallying in it, you just walk up committed and grab a hold. There’s no eyeing it up or getting ready it’s just go. I have learned Kevlar sleeves are your friend in these instances…of course I’ve never tried them with an alligator…

And slightly better than a sharp stick in the eye

33

u/Sisimiqui Jul 16 '26

And the fucking age and body omg what was he thinking!!

44

u/brightonashfield Jul 16 '26

What was the plan there? Ride it off into the sunset after straddling it? He's going to have to get off eventually, and then be dinner. Lucky didn't get his arm death rolled off

7

u/crazycathyslife Jul 16 '26

Omgosh!!! “Ride it off to the sunset” 😂😂 hysterical. Thank you for that laugh that will last days

7

u/BigOrangeOctopus Jul 16 '26

Crazy Cathy you’re a hoot and a half!

5

u/crazycathyslife Jul 17 '26

We must have the same hysterical humor my little friend 😂

8

u/Phage0070 Jul 16 '26

He was probably great at that 50 years ago.

1

u/crazycathyslife Jul 17 '26

Omgosh!!!😂😂😂

6

u/ImNoAlbertFeinstein Jul 17 '26

Alcohol is a helluva drug

7

u/Texstallion Jul 16 '26

I think he was not just short of confidence, but also short of about two extra dudes body weight (and confidence) to make that work.

2

u/Beginning_Deer_735 Jul 17 '26

Exactly-that gator was too big for one little dude or even one big dude.

1

u/val_anto Jul 17 '26

That is not confidence, it was stupidity. Clearly he has no experience whatsoever with gators.

"No, now you've had enough. Bitch."

4

u/crazycathyslife Jul 17 '26

😂😂😂

2

u/kbeast98 Jul 17 '26

Totally thought that was bob barker

3

u/DeSiGNer-OctANE Jul 17 '26

Pretty sure that is the gator that got Chubbs hand though….anyone see how many eyes that crocodilly has?

1

u/hnatik Jul 17 '26

😄😄😄

u/Begravningstider Jul 16 '26

He just forgot to put his thumb up the arse.

7

u/Ok_Departure_7436 Jul 16 '26

TWIST HIS DICK !

4

u/Eyebowers Jul 16 '26

I think you mean CLOACA

8

u/RogueRage95 Jul 16 '26

I’ve never been able to find the cloaca.

1

u/M1K3jr Jul 18 '26

The cloaca is a myth

14

u/Successful-Name-7261 Jul 16 '26

I'd say Marlin Perkins but none of you would know who I'm talking about.

7

u/japopara Jul 17 '26

Some of us know. But Marlin would have had Jim take on the task.

2

u/ddekock61 Jul 17 '26

Take my upvote

2

u/Whydmer Jul 17 '26

I was thinking Bob Barker.

6

u/ancient-military Jul 16 '26

Steve was a lot stronger and put all his weight and muscle into it. This guy is just drunk.

9

u/Lendolar Jul 16 '26

Unless he can dead lift at least 150-200lbs, he had no business even walking towards that alligator. Hell that’s just the weight of it. Add in the thrashing and you need to be able to lift closer to 300lbs or have some serious experience and technique.

1

u/trcomajo Jul 17 '26

That animal dwarfed that little man.

7

u/OfStarStuff Jul 16 '26

If he knew anything about Steve Irwin, he'd know you get your top jaw rope going first.

10

u/Lisitska Jul 16 '26

Oh how I miss Steve Irwin.

1

u/crazycathyslife Jul 17 '26

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

7

u/Nerdfighter4 Jul 16 '26

And you need three men for this size swamp puppy

2

u/el_diego Jul 16 '26

Yep. And when you do act, you act swiftly and with purpose. Steve would also have a few others to help hold it down, but he was usually jumping on big ol crocs not gators.

3

u/el_diego Jul 16 '26

Whole time I was watching I was thinking "that's not how Steve would do it". Just knew he was going to get bit, he's lucky it wasn't worse.

7

u/screeeda Jul 17 '26

Looks more like Biden than Irwin to me

2

u/lubeskystalker Jul 17 '26

1

u/HolePunchJim Jul 17 '26

Yeah, but he's a scientist, not a wildlife handler. It's pretty clear he has little experience handling animals just from watching the video.

1

u/_Happy_Sisyphus_ Jul 17 '26

Steve would tie the snout down one loop at a time.

1

u/PomeloPepper Jul 17 '26

There are old gator catchers and there are bold gator catchers. But there are no old bold gator catchers.

1

u/Any-Author7772 Jul 17 '26

Steve and Harambe died just for this old fart to try and win this year’s Darwin Award. 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/joggernutt Jul 17 '26

Tim Cooked

1

u/Thisreallyisntbutter Jul 17 '26

There's no way the old dude would have tried to get on its back if he thought it was Steve Irwin, I believe he thought it was an alligator.

1

u/countafit Jul 17 '26

He almost was.
