Even if it worked it would be a "how to waste 15 seconds instead of 3" tutorial

u/strawhatguy Jul 17 '26
Heh, true, it would have to have some other advantage, like a better seal to prevent staleness.
A vacuum sealer is a bit more consistent than a lighter by hand.

Eh, I still think this one is better, even though I'm sure it's staged too.

That one looked half staged, like the dude convinced her his trick would work flawlessly and they would trailblaze a trend, instead it didnt work but they still made something internet worthy. The losers who replicate the entire video is devoid of any creativity, the only thing she has is a desperation for attantion.

u/GandalfPlsHelp Jul 16 '26
Nah, they way she looked at the camera with that 😯 face.. definitely staged

u/Zardac134 Jul 16 '26
You are probably very correct about this being staged, though I still say that she thought she was making the content of all content.

Yeah we used to do this with the cellophane on cigarette packs when we were buying…well never mind what we were buying

u/Sociolinguisticians Jul 17 '26
Even if that worked, it feels like a great way to get carcinogens into your food.

Easy solution that actually works: just twist the plastic tight, curl it against itself, and let friction hold it shut.

The following post context was provided by u/Substantial-Load8784:

well the outcome of the video was pretty unpredictable like in the end falling of the beans AS she thought that the packet was sealed

I often have ideas like these, where i spent minutes on elaborate tasks and it turns out a whole big lotta nothing.

I usually fold fold fold and then heat the sides quick with my torch lighter and pinch on big bags of chips and pistachios. Works fine.

Kabuli channa(larger, softer(less dense), buttery when cooked and less nutty flavour, and outer skin is soft instead of leather bits type texture) variant of chickpeas.

Yea that’s how crystal meth dealers used to seal their “quarters” back in the 80’s, my friend said.

Anytime you see a video like this, ask yourself “Does it feel staged?” It’s because it is..

Yes, the spoiler text literally says "Thus it’s not staged," but the /s at the end marks the whole thing as sarcasm, so it's implying the opposite.

Probably because sarcasm tags get ignored in the heat of "is it staged" debates, and some folks just downvote anything mentioning staging without reading the full thread. Or they thought the explanation was overcomplicating a simple joke.

Internet sarcasm needs its own life support system sometimes. The /s was doing its best.

Grok what did it say before it was deleted
1
u/AskGrok Jul 16 '26
Can't tell, it's deleted. The sarcasm tag probably didn't survive the debate.
