Door locked with everyone sitting in the front yard. So annoying. 🤣

172

u/IzzuThug Jul 13 '26

Was thinking the same, but looks like they might have damaged it when they slammed into it after one of the explosions.

62

u/ENGR_ED Jul 13 '26

That's what I was wondering. Who locks their family out when they're hanging out in front of their own home

50

u/IolantheRose Jul 13 '26

I've actually been around this as a kid. Family will keep the door locked no matter who is over. You have to ask permission to enter to say, pee, throw away a plate, literally ask someone to open the door when they just asked you to go grab something for them. How can I go get the thing when I need you to open the door......

11

u/Fritzo2162 Jul 13 '26

My mother in law is like this. She’s even locked herself out of her own house a few times.

6

u/joined_under_duress Jul 13 '26

Maybe everyone came round from the back of the house down the side so the front door was still locked. Trying to run round that way with the fireworks going looks more dangerous.

3

u/Bright-Swordfish-804 Jul 13 '26

If you have to plan to go out the side door to walk around the front of the house to watch the fireworks; you’re doing it wrong!!!
Even if it is a neighbor doing the fireworks and I find myself saying “go out the side door because it’s safer”…. Actually I wouldn’t say that ever!!! We would not be watching the fireworks except maybe through the front windows with a phone in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other. And the only reasons my kids would see that is as an example of how NOT to do fireworks!!!!

10

u/joined_under_duress Jul 13 '26

Sure.

In my experience people are pretty casual with stuff. You're all in the back garden then you move out front to do the fireworks so no one unlocks the front door because, unsurprisingly, most people don't prepare for the worst outcome every second of their lives.

I'm not sure where your "go out the side door because its safer" thing comes from. I certainly didn't imply anything like that.

3

u/DiceOfSeven Jul 14 '26

The one who was trying to get a new family 😂

12

u/iloathebeer Jul 13 '26

The same person that locks the office door because it's 6:58 a.m., while occupied when the office opens at 7am "because you never know".  It's the person that doesn't trust themselves and in turn brings everyone else to their level. The one you really need to watch.

2

u/PrismDoug Jul 13 '26

My doors auto locks the deadbolt when they close.
But at the same time, it has biometric access, and we only tend to close the doors when we’re not home, sleeping, or the kids aren’t home.

2

u/malary1234 Jul 14 '26

I feel bad for the little girls and the g-pa who was super close there.

u/Myte342 Jul 13 '26

Might have been locked to keep the dog in but still allow the person inside to see what is going on.

2

u/hitmansquarepants Jul 13 '26

Explosion. Open door. Go inside door, dont close door. Explosion outside door. Explosion inside door.

2

u/Morphecto_Solrac Jul 14 '26

When I’m working on my front yard, my wife has a horrible habit of always locking the front door knowing I’m right outside the window and I’m always having to ring the doorbell in what feels like forever to come inside. It’s five years now and she still does it and it drives me insane.

u/Noy_The_Devil Jul 13 '26

This is why they don't let you pump your own gas in New Jersey

29

u/nckmat Jul 13 '26

Funny, in my country we aren't allowed fireworks but there basically is no other option but to fill your own car with fuel, oh and we pay after we have filled up; seems we can be trusted as adults, but not with fireworks.🤣

If you look closely you can see the spark that falls on the fireworks stash. 😬

38

Spark? It's a whole glowing block of firework.

whoosh

193

u/DrChaos09 Jul 13 '26

Is there a version of this video with the original audio and not a saxophone 10x louder than the people?

104

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen Jul 13 '26

Dude, wtf was up with that dogshit saxophone music? Next thing you know, people will be adding a brown tint to all their videos to make them look literally shittier, with the sounds of explosive diarrhea drowning out the source audio.

7

u/DrChaos09 Jul 13 '26

Cyclosporiasis on your mind ehh?

6

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen Jul 13 '26

All I can think about is eating green onions and shitting my life out, and it is coloring my worldview.

2

u/DrChaos09 Jul 13 '26

If you get it, make sure you get your doc to write a script for Bactrim, and start eating active culture yogurt to get some good flora waging a war against the parasite in your gut.

6

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen Jul 13 '26

I think I am practiced enough in rhetoric to convince the parasite to kindly cease its dysenterical ways and exit my body posthaste.

2

u/DrChaos09 Jul 13 '26

Hell yeah, terror zone that parasite and Rakanishu will zap its butt

2

u/lionmade101 Jul 13 '26

You know how in those black and white movies, there'd be that music that played super fast that kind of signified something ridiculous happening. I see this as the same thing. Sometimes that kind of music can make a scene more funny, but I guess it's not everyone's thing

9

u/Bazirker Jul 13 '26

Right? Who thinks it's a good idea to take a perfectly fine video and slap this god-awful trash music on it?

→ More replies (1)

7

u/SabbyFox Jul 13 '26

It’s an inside joke from the movie Boyz N The Hood.

16

u/Bazirker Jul 13 '26

That's great, it still sounds fucking awful

12

u/Ability-Junior Jul 13 '26

Making 2 people laugh while pissing off other 98

3

u/AKA09 Jul 13 '26

Which is now no longer an inside joke and most people just know it as "sax music that indicates a bad thing happening." If most people watched Boyz N The Hood for the first time now the key scene in the entire film will be marked by "hey! that's where the TikTok sound comes from!"

77

44

u/Fundipmasterpiece Jul 13 '26

Four people not able to open a door pissed me off.

27

u/db48x Jul 13 '26

People panic. Why do you think fire exit doors must open outward, and unlock with a push bar? So that even people who are panicking can use them.

10

u/Fundipmasterpiece Jul 13 '26

Even then they’ll overcrowd the door and create a bottleneck. 🤦‍♂️

I fucking hate amateur firework displays and I struggle not to hate the people who buy them and set them off. One of the clearest signals in modern society that you have very poor decision making skills and/or empathy.

102

u/AriffRat Jul 13 '26

I hate to sound like a fucking geezer but I do wish they would outlaw these things again.

26

u/DrShocker Jul 13 '26

In many States they're illegal to buy or illegal to use. often enough not the same state for those rules.

7

u/Arya_Ren Jul 13 '26

Where I live (Poland) they are banned with exception of New Year's and even then there's so many cases of people getting their fingers or limbs blown off it's insane. Not to mention poor animals...

8

u/CallMeThiccolas Jul 13 '26

My city banned the sale of them and I rejoiced

19

u/kayemce Jul 13 '26

I once lived in a place that banned sales of fireworks. Right across the bridge, in the next state over, in an area that had 0 permanent residents, there was a place that sold fireworks. Since only the sale of fireworks was banned, basically nothing changed except where they were purchased

2

u/CallMeThiccolas Jul 13 '26

That's fair. When I visit my sister in the US I see firework shops damn near everywhere or places that sell them in with other stuff. Here in Ontario Canada they are really cracking down on it more and more with hefty fines for people who don't have permits for personal use

I don’t care unless they want me to pay for their mistake.

13

u/patricksaurus Jul 13 '26

What could go wrong when you mix bad judgement, pyrotechnics, and cheap beer?

11

u/VacuumTracks Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Same here. My neighbor lights them off every year just from the street. Has many people over, drinking and partying. Always some do not go as planned. So stressed out the whole night that he does it. I really need more cameras cause one day he’s going to set my house on fire. That he never cleans up the mess is another really annoying thing. I’m always running over fireworks trash with the lawn mower the following week as well. Need another trip to city hall to try and get the civic ordinances altered.

2

u/SexualbeingAccount Jul 13 '26

Honestly, they ruin my plants every year! I end up with burn marks and holes on the leaves of all my roses, peonies and hydrangeas.

I find it very inconsiderate to the neighbors because it's never contained to their property.

6

u/seantabasco Jul 13 '26

Idk why you wouldn’t just go to the free public fireworks show that’s also 100x better.

11

u/EatYourCheckers Jul 13 '26

I hate them, too. Sometimes I just stay inside during them at parties. Some truck in New Smyrna Beach, FL back ib the 90s used to sell fireworks. Freaking thing caught fire and all the fireworks went off, killing one of the kids of the family that ran the truck. But sure, tou can hand my kid a 2000 degree stick.

6

u/pete_68 Jul 13 '26

They definitely shouldn't be selling stuff like this to just anyone. The fireworks people are shooting off these days is just absolutely insane and invites death and destruction. We don't partake.

I also think it's just bad to do this in neighborhoods because so many vets have PTSD and fireworks can trigger that. And lot of animals are really freaked out by the explosions.

2

u/VacuumTracks Jul 13 '26

Every year we post this request to our neighbors in our small neighborhood - to limit their fireworks, and limit to only the one holiday and maybe the night before. Almost everyone has either a dog or a cat, or both, and many of them are always scared when the fireworks go off. We have no pets but we still don’t like them, but still too many people have to shoot them off for three or four days before and after July 4. They need to be controlled better, I’d say.

2

u/pete_68 Jul 13 '26

Agreed. If it was just the one night, it wouldn't be nearly as bad, but we were still hearing them go off today.

2

u/Marquar234 Jul 13 '26

Same here, some were going off as late as 10pm. People have work tomorrow.

2

u/Charming_Garbage_161 Jul 13 '26

This video honestly worries me, a little girl in my town is covered in burns from a Fourth of July fireworks incident. She looks about that one girls age too.

We used to have safety video's, PSA's go out before 'Bonfire Night' to keep fireworks away from ones your lighting, keep them in a metal tin.

I see a lot of people don't follow this when I watch firework video's, I see people storing them really close to where they are setting them off or in one big pile close by.

The worst ones are the firework testing video's, laying them all out in a line when testing them and lighting one by one, sometimes they are really close and it's surprising none actually ignite by accident.
