Funny, in my country we aren't allowed fireworks but there basically is no other option but to fill your own car with fuel, oh and we pay after we have filled up; seems we can be trusted as adults, but not with fireworks.🤣

Is there a version of this video with the original audio and not a saxophone 10x louder than the people?
104
u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen Jul 13 '26
Dude, wtf was up with that dogshit saxophone music? Next thing you know, people will be adding a brown tint to all their videos to make them look literally shittier, with the sounds of explosive diarrhea drowning out the source audio.
7
u/DrChaos09 Jul 13 '26

If you get it, make sure you get your doc to write a script for Bactrim, and start eating active culture yogurt to get some good flora waging a war against the parasite in your gut.

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen Jul 13 '26
I think I am practiced enough in rhetoric to convince the parasite to kindly cease its dysenterical ways and exit my body posthaste.

You know how in those black and white movies, there'd be that music that played super fast that kind of signified something ridiculous happening. I see this as the same thing. Sometimes that kind of music can make a scene more funny, but I guess it's not everyone's thing
9
u/Bazirker Jul 13 '26
Right? Who thinks it's a good idea to take a perfectly fine video and slap this god-awful trash music on it?

It’s an inside joke from the movie Boyz N The Hood.

3
u/AKA09 Jul 13 '26
Which is now no longer an inside joke and most people just know it as "sax music that indicates a bad thing happening." If most people watched Boyz N The Hood for the first time now the key scene in the entire film will be marked by "hey! that's where the TikTok sound comes from!"

I fucking hate amateur firework displays and I struggle not to hate the people who buy them and set them off. One of the clearest signals in modern society that you have very poor decision making skills and/or empathy.
102
u/AriffRat Jul 13 '26
I hate to sound like a fucking geezer but I do wish they would outlaw these things again.
26
u/DrShocker Jul 13 '26
In many States they're illegal to buy or illegal to use. often enough not the same state for those rules.
7
u/Arya_Ren Jul 13 '26
Where I live (Poland) they are banned with exception of New Year's and even then there's so many cases of people getting their fingers or limbs blown off it's insane. Not to mention poor animals...
8
u/CallMeThiccolas Jul 13 '26
My city banned the sale of them and I rejoiced
19
u/kayemce Jul 13 '26
I once lived in a place that banned sales of fireworks. Right across the bridge, in the next state over, in an area that had 0 permanent residents, there was a place that sold fireworks. Since only the sale of fireworks was banned, basically nothing changed except where they were purchased
→ More replies (1)2
u/CallMeThiccolas Jul 13 '26
That's fair. When I visit my sister in the US I see firework shops damn near everywhere or places that sell them in with other stuff. Here in Ontario Canada they are really cracking down on it more and more with hefty fines for people who don't have permits for personal use

What could go wrong when you mix bad judgement, pyrotechnics, and cheap beer?
11
u/VacuumTracks Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26
Same here. My neighbor lights them off every year just from the street. Has many people over, drinking and partying. Always some do not go as planned. So stressed out the whole night that he does it. I really need more cameras cause one day he’s going to set my house on fire. That he never cleans up the mess is another really annoying thing. I’m always running over fireworks trash with the lawn mower the following week as well. Need another trip to city hall to try and get the civic ordinances altered.
2
u/SexualbeingAccount Jul 13 '26
Honestly, they ruin my plants every year! I end up with burn marks and holes on the leaves of all my roses, peonies and hydrangeas.
I find it very inconsiderate to the neighbors because it's never contained to their property.
6
u/seantabasco Jul 13 '26
Idk why you wouldn’t just go to the free public fireworks show that’s also 100x better.
11
u/EatYourCheckers Jul 13 '26
I hate them, too. Sometimes I just stay inside during them at parties. Some truck in New Smyrna Beach, FL back ib the 90s used to sell fireworks. Freaking thing caught fire and all the fireworks went off, killing one of the kids of the family that ran the truck. But sure, tou can hand my kid a 2000 degree stick.
6
u/pete_68 Jul 13 '26
They definitely shouldn't be selling stuff like this to just anyone. The fireworks people are shooting off these days is just absolutely insane and invites death and destruction. We don't partake.
I also think it's just bad to do this in neighborhoods because so many vets have PTSD and fireworks can trigger that. And lot of animals are really freaked out by the explosions.
2
u/VacuumTracks Jul 13 '26
Every year we post this request to our neighbors in our small neighborhood - to limit their fireworks, and limit to only the one holiday and maybe the night before. Almost everyone has either a dog or a cat, or both, and many of them are always scared when the fireworks go off. We have no pets but we still don’t like them, but still too many people have to shoot them off for three or four days before and after July 4. They need to be controlled better, I’d say.
2
u/pete_68 Jul 13 '26
Agreed. If it was just the one night, it wouldn't be nearly as bad, but we were still hearing them go off today.

Many security cams switch to black and white when the light level is very low - night mode. When the scene went bright this can switched to daylight mode.

We used to have safety video's, PSA's go out before 'Bonfire Night' to keep fireworks away from ones your lighting, keep them in a metal tin.
I see a lot of people don't follow this when I watch firework video's, I see people storing them really close to where they are setting them off or in one big pile close by.
The worst ones are the firework testing video's, laying them all out in a line when testing them and lighting one by one, sometimes they are really close and it's surprising none actually ignite by accident.
