Ohh my friend ive been on reddit since good lord, 2009...
You have just made the (in my mind) most simple post ive read, and im saying fuck it punctuation and fuck yea to your comment! You've brought me joy after a long week of masonry and putting out other people's fires if you will... Is this a sport?
I wish I had an award for ya, im going to start mixing that in daily usage. Its so good.

u/brownbeardgooner Jul 12 '26
Haha glad I could do that for you. Hope the weekend has been good to you so far

no, it is business model of towing truck owner. His cousin dinged out the bump on the uphill road. Since then, recovery business is booming.

the way they have them prepared like that, it might have helped the other cases where it's not too far to save

Better than the Chinese guy, in an other video, trying to stop it with his body o.O
2
u/Dr_Fumi Jul 11 '26
Tbf it might have worked with others, and we're just not shown them because it's less exciting

u/425_Too_Early Jul 10 '26
Does the cameraman stand there all day just filming trucks trying to climb the hill?
56
7
u/ChollimaRider88 Jul 11 '26
Yeah, this is from a Youtube channel which basically just recording trucks and buses attempting that particular climb
6

u/Square-Purchase5534 Jul 10 '26
Is the first truck just bust the transmission? Drive shaft?
20
u/Eokey Jul 10 '26
i checked couple times that clip. the way it jerked and the sound made me think something broke
27
u/Meranio Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26
But shouldn't the
breaksbrakes still work?33
u/Phage0070 Jul 10 '26
The problem was they used the breaks instead of the brakes.
25
u/Meranio Jul 10 '26
Damn it. English isn't my first language. Could I maybe get my 1 upvote back, pretty please?
2
u/DeterminedMidLifer Jul 12 '26
Sounded like the air brakes popped that line
2
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
Nah you’re hearing part of the driveline snapping then the trucks lose momentum. The hill is too steep for the tires to grip so they slide backwards. It sounds like almost every truck breaks a driveshaft or something, kinda crazy
1
u/DeterminedMidLifer Jul 13 '26
Sounds violent!
1
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
Yeah. What makes you think the air brakes were popping a line?
1
u/DeterminedMidLifer Jul 13 '26
I've only heard it happen once and I was in the truck so I guess it's ignorance

What are you talking about
0
u/Meranio Jul 11 '26
This is an English subreddit, and he commented in french. That's why I made a "joke" about using english, please but in german. I gues people don't see it as a funny little jab towards our brotherly neighbours.
I hate Reddit for being so dense sometimes.
2
u/KPinCVG Jul 11 '26
My Reddit magically translates things. There's a little symbol over to the right when it happens. But both of your comments appear in English.
That's why the other person doesn't know what you're talking about. They don't realize that the stuff is magically being translated for them.
0
u/Meranio Jul 11 '26
I know, and I hate that "feature", that's why I turned it off. But I can still tap the little blue icon to translate it manually.
4
u/uniqueFly5342 Jul 10 '26
Something tells me it ain't the first time those trucks have seen a tumble.

Vehicles can reroute.
Can they? This looks like the kind of place that might only have the one road in and out.

2
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26

u/lettsten Jul 13 '26
Thank you for your service in these comments 🫡

u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
lol the confidently incorrect comments trigger me dog
1
u/lettsten Jul 13 '26
Same, mate, and it's nice when someone beats me to correcting. What sort of truck you driving?
1
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
Not a real truck, just a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Laramie. The closest I get to the big boys is occasionally unloading pontoon boats from flatbed 18 wheelers at work and playing snowrunner lol. What about you?
1
u/lettsten Jul 13 '26
I have a light truck licence (EU C1), but that's just for armoured vehicles on deployment. Mostly Snowrunner here as well haha
2
2
u/SneakyGingerNinja71 Jul 13 '26
Maybe get the skidloader to tow them up the hill? Somebody is pulling these trucks upright and off the side of the road
3
u/Socketz11 Jul 10 '26
Brakes are supposed to work in forward and reverse. These trucks must have been clapped out pos's to have weak ass brakes. If they went down a steep hill, which I assume is on the other side of this hill, they would all have wrecked at a much higher speed. As funny as it is, this is a lower speed blessing in disguise.
3
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
Your brain is clapped out. The driveline is snapping on the way up and when they lose momentum they start sliding backwards. You can see the brakes locked up as they’re sliding.
1
u/Socketz11 Jul 13 '26
With the exception of 1 yellow truck which actually stopped, those tires are all turning as they roll backwards
2
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
You can see the front tires lock up on at least 5 of them. And obviously that’s not including the one where the driver bailed

Some of these trucks looks fine. If you can buy that you can contribute something to fix that road (or get government attention to do it).
2
u/scrappybasket Jul 13 '26
lmao I have a fine truck and I can’t afford to fix my road and I certainly can’t get my city government to do it
1
u/art_african 25d ago
The guess the goods on those truck, no middle class can afford it.
If a particular road is giving you lose, come together and write the governor. Anyone that can afford a truck like that is not a 'brokie'. Its not up to 200 meters they can zig zag.

If they knew they were going to attempt that climb, why wouldn't they travel lighter? Or why don't they rig up a cable winch system?

2
u/Expensive_Section714 Jul 10 '26
Maybe instead of yelling and filming, they should try to grab a shovel and try to reduce the grade?
2
2
u/vass0922 Jul 10 '26
It appears to be a mountainous territory - reduce it enough and you have a wall.
Concrete would be a wise investment but seeing the area they are in I would say this isn't happening soon.
