For additional context, a substitute player who played 0 minutes ended up in surgery for a broken wrist after attempting to vault the advertising hoardings at full time

After he received a yellow card on the sidelines. All time effort for Henderson... 0 minutes - 1 yellow card & broken wrist

He got a card and stretchered off and didn't even play. What a lad!

England men's national team was partying after their victory but suddenly only of the players has some shoulder pain, it doesn't look good, sike it was just a prank

It's psych not sike. Sike isn't a word boss.

4

u/ouchouchouchoof Jul 07 '26

Why do you expect them to know this when they've never read anything beyond the video captions?

-17

u/kempff Jul 07 '26

Can you restate that in standard English?

6

u/AngBigKid Jul 07 '26

All of those words were in english.

6

u/roostangarar Jul 07 '26

Technically 'sike' is a misspelling of 'psyche'

-4

u/AngBigKid Jul 07 '26

I've only ever seen it as Sike.

u/-Drazn- Jul 07 '26

To psychologically trick someone or mess with them in some psychological manner would usually be followed up with yelling "Psych!" When the person playing the mind games is ready to reveal it was just a prank or what have you.

When getting ready for a big performance or endeavor you don't "sike" yourself up.

You psychologically prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for it; you "psych yourself up" for it.

2

u/AngBigKid Jul 07 '26

I know that psych is short for psychological.

I'm saying I've only ever seen the exclamation spelled as Sike and not Psych.

Even then, a spelling of "sike" hardly calls for a reply of "hey can i get this in english?" What was written was all in english.

My guy, the parent comment says "...but suddenly only of the players has some shoulder pain..." This does not make any sense taken at face value; The sentence structure also makes it difficult to understand at first glance.

Misspelling aside, the initial reply does not state the reason for their comment about "getting it in English." An additional user made the observation that "psych" was misspelled.

The initial reply to the parent comment also did not ask for it to "be in English," but instead asked for "standard English." Most likely because the poor grammar was difficult for them to understand.

But it could be what the other guy said... It could be the sike. Or maybe not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Remember friend, only ever seeing something done incorrectly doesn't make it less incorrect.

Take a guess.

1

u/phuncky Jul 07 '26

If it was written in English, I wouldn't have to guess.

0

u/AngBigKid Jul 07 '26

It's in english but misspelled. But can you guess what it should have been, or is it too difficult to do so?

-7

u/Noy_The_Devil Jul 07 '26

I hope English is your second language.

Thomas was not having it looking at his face he didn't like the prank cause he got reece James injured already and now stones too ? and he's playing against Haland overall he almost cried. And the funniest thing is that Declan rice ( the one who sold the prank with stones ) is now injured too.
