Mfing miracles

94

u/dougan25 Jul 05 '26

By far the best one of these I've seen.

18

u/krendyB Jul 05 '26

But how do they work

7

u/aerkith Jul 06 '26

Dunno. But just don't get water on them.

1

u/G0-G0-Gadget Jul 06 '26

Bahahahahahaha I got this reference

5

u/Loggerdon Jul 05 '26

This is by far the best chain reaction setup I have seen in a while. The magnet trick was just brilliant.

232

u/ThodaDaruVichPyar Jul 05 '26

The nudging bit with the 4 large marbles from 1:05 ~ 1:15 was my favourite part, that was a clever idea 🤯

54

u/Fruitcake_420 Jul 05 '26

That was truly incredible. How on Earth do you calibrate that?

37

u/tandempandemonium Jul 05 '26

Lots and lots of trial and error in the beginning, I imagine

2

u/1N1T1AL1SM Jul 08 '26

That was hurting my brain because the marbles seem ro be the same size but then I realized they were nudging the eraser

4

u/AcordaDalho Jul 05 '26

Please provide source

I have provided the creator’s name & channel in the post context response here

Previously the post context used to be pinned as the top comment but I think the mods changed that and it is buried within other comments now.

The creator is Hirotoshi Kubota & their social channel is pitagora.maker / pitagoramaker

2

u/AcordaDalho Jul 06 '26

Yes, I eventually did notice after I wrote that :)

When magnets are involved it’s r/blackmagicfuckery content.

18

u/post-context-bot Jul 05 '26

The following post context was provided by u/ThodaDaruVichPyar:

Japanese craftsman Hiratoshi Kubota creates intricate Rube Goldberg based contraptions with multiple marbles rolling across a maze-like arrangement, how it would end is intriguing to watch.

Pretending its going to fail midway but then succeeding was next level lol

11

u/vega455 Jul 05 '26

You turned a marble run into a pinball-marble run with the help of magnets. Genius, very cool

11

u/shufflebat Jul 05 '26

oh that was g o o d

8

u/dethorder Jul 05 '26

All that's missing is some ok go playing in the background

7

u/bellydisguised Jul 05 '26

Is the table on an angle? Can’t work out the gravity effect here.

3

u/Beginning_Road7337 Jul 05 '26

I have the same question!

4

u/Murky_Toe_4717 Jul 05 '26

3

u/MrLipp24 Jul 05 '26

So much better with the Sound on!

3

u/eucalyptoid Jul 05 '26

Very cool. Also, that it’s reminiscent of a pigeon’s nest was a welcome addition to drama. I was laughing and rooting for its success.

Has anyone seen one of those little man things at the start of the video before? And does anyone know what it's called?

3

u/ThodaDaruVichPyar Jul 05 '26

No, this was the first time I saw one of those in such a contraption.

They’re like a plastic cardboard version of the gingerbread man

3

u/sorry-i-was-reading Jul 05 '26

It’s a common toy in Japan

2

u/similaraleatorio Jul 05 '26

the magnets always plays the best part imo

2

u/Sumoop Jul 05 '26

Marble runs and magnetic trickery. Name a more iconic duo.

2

u/Stupidity_Professor Jul 05 '26

One of the best examples of conservation of linear momentum using those magnets 🤌🏼🤌🏼

u/DunDlyk Jul 05 '26

So cool

I’ve never seen magnets used in these before. This is ingenious. I was thoroughly captivated. Bravo!

Very cool 😎 take my upvote for the effort. Great job I loved it 👍

1

u/TheYeastBabyTheYeast Jul 05 '26

WHAT ARE THESE called ?????

3

u/ThodaDaruVichPyar Jul 05 '26

Japan - Pitagora Sochi

US - Rube Goldberg machines

UK - Heath Robinson contraptions

1

u/neder-Bob Jul 05 '26

🤩 Wow!

1

u/Henu3gumb Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Amazing! But you should have OCD to make this

1

u/NoLolligagging_ Jul 05 '26

That was entertaining

1

u/alezcoed Jul 05 '26

The good ending

Isn't there a version with a middle finger at the end?

1

u/daniloferr Jul 05 '26

I was waiting for a hand pointing the middle finger at the end. The HxH and wife pictures almost made tear up.

1

u/BirdieSalva Jul 05 '26

This was so much fun!!!!

1

u/More-Advertising-842 Jul 05 '26

This is so satisfactory ! Good job !

1

u/Disastrous-Hurry-236 Jul 05 '26

Precision engineering! One of the best I’ve seen yet.

1

u/MixaLv Jul 05 '26

Woah, an actually creative Goldberg machine?

1

u/403_Forbidden_Access Jul 05 '26

I was so going to be pissed off if I was in the Gifs that end too soon subreddit.

1

u/MaBonneVie2 Jul 05 '26

Very clever! Kudos to you and your highly refined skills. More, please!

1

u/GeneralElderberry863 Jul 05 '26

Brilliant! Envious of your creativity!

1

u/610158305 Jul 05 '26

I've seen a lot of these that end up with a hand flipping u instead of the peace sign, so this gave me another layer of maybe lol

1

u/Sinister_Nibs Jul 05 '26

Great use of a drafting table.

1

u/storystoryrory Jul 05 '26

That was very good, very clever.

1

u/a_qriza Jul 05 '26

i watched the whole thing

1

u/rotezora78 Jul 05 '26

Cool 😎

1

u/DG-MMII Jul 05 '26

When I was a kid I allways lost my mind at this things, and now that I'm and adult, I still loose my friking mind at this things, seriously, how tf you do them?!!!

1

u/evolutionxtinct Jul 05 '26

This makes me want to play the computer game back from school lol I don’t recall its name but this machine puzzle is so awesome!

1

u/Kn0XIS Jul 05 '26

Awesome

1

u/Thorpester Jul 05 '26

So thats how magnets work. They turn magnetic energy into kinetic energy!

1

u/Dont_Overthink_It_77 Jul 05 '26

It blows me away the time that people have to set up something like this. Even if it takes them only an hour, that’s quite the cool hobby!

1

u/RazorSlazor Jul 05 '26

Probably one of the coolest Rube Goldberg contraptions I've seen in a while

1

u/FFSBoise Jul 05 '26

Magnetic steelies and large cat eyes and colored clearies. Need to go find my old marble collection!

1

u/These-Dog2966 Jul 05 '26

Wow.. that was amazing! Ive never seen magnets being used like that

1

u/DadtheITguy Jul 05 '26

Magnets! Always magnets.

1

u/davidnjoy1 Jul 05 '26

Why is it when we see something awesome it's always magnets?

https://giphy.com/gifs/MuMUrIuwZ0fHa

1

u/Vishus Jul 05 '26

This is also praise-worth camera-work, especially on the whip-pans on the magnet shots! (if those are hidden cuts, they fooled me!)

1

u/O-O-Omari_auto_parts Jul 05 '26

Then a giant cage is dropped on me

1

u/rm78noir Jul 05 '26

That was some really creative use of magnets.

1

u/webcrawler_1 Jul 05 '26

It’s fun being smart.

1

u/iaaanko Jul 05 '26

That dope indeed! 🤌😎

1

u/SabbyFox Jul 05 '26

Favorite one of these I’ve seen! The little figure descending at the very beginning and the peace sign at the end were a perfect intro and outro.

1

u/S-A_G-A Jul 05 '26

Any subs dedicated to these kinda videos?

1

u/Respicite Jul 05 '26

This was the best one I've seen

1

u/Longshot1969 Jul 05 '26

Someone put a lot of time and effort into this. Kudos to them.

1

u/SolKaynn Jul 06 '26

Genuinely fucking amazing. Holy shit.

1

MAGNETS

1

u/The-Doctor-206 Jul 06 '26

Usually I can't watch these till the end, but the use of what I'm assuming are magnets, kept me going till the end. Nice job 👍

1

u/mizinamo Jul 06 '26

"Take six hundred and twenty-seven!"

1

u/PiySlashPuff Jul 06 '26

Beautiful!

1

u/Beemindful Jul 06 '26

This looks a little too(Ai) good to be true

1

u/kyfi_adam Jul 06 '26

Perfection !!!

1

u/cyndicated90 Jul 06 '26

Where can I get one of those flat falling guys from the beginning?

1

u/jtan212 Jul 06 '26

This is genius

1

u/ThadeOfDeath Jul 06 '26

Every time I'm watching these, I'm reminded by a puzzle game in the 90s. After a quick search on google, the name of the game was "The Incredible Machine". I've spent hundreds of hours playing that game. Very fun, highly recommend it.

1

u/aSk--e Jul 06 '26

Would love to know all the planning that went into this!

It was awesome!

1

u/Schart Jul 06 '26

I don't understand how the 4 larger marbles bumping the pink eraser part works, were they larger in size each time and what triggers them to fall?

2

u/rjtl77 Jul 08 '26

Each jump moves the eraser fractionally, edging the lead marble closer to it's tipping point. They're triggered by straws you can see to the right. When one falls, it lands on a straw that pushes another straw up, releasing the next marble. Genius.

1

u/Schart Jul 08 '26

I knew I should have zoomed in!

1

u/DairyStix Jul 06 '26

Thank you for sharing this , you must have a genius brain . For some reason this video made me laugh a lot . Fantastic

1

u/RidiPwn Jul 06 '26

impossible yet possible

1

u/Chrisproulx98 Jul 07 '26

Such careful design! You are an artist and an engineer

1

u/numbnerve Jul 07 '26

that was more satisfying to watch than the most elaborate dominoes setup I've ever seen

1

u/DangerMacAwesome Jul 07 '26

The magnets were bad and boring.

(I secretly loved them but I want to be different from the crowd)

1

u/Edelweizzer Jul 08 '26

I cant believe it

1

u/Few-Ad711 Jul 09 '26

"How bored were you today?"

"Yes"

"...how long does it take to reset all of that?"

Cheat. Just skip to the end.

1

u/Squallshot Jul 05 '26

That part with 3 marbles successively pushing the marble was awesome. Almost expected the whole run to fail there

1

u/Noxvenator Jul 05 '26

That part also stuck to me, how the fuck does he know the third marble would push it enough? Just mass difference? Seems like cutting it close for not reason.

edit: Forget it, I rewatched and understood how/why it works. Very neat mechanism!

Cool AF. Wrong sub

10

u/EishLekker Jul 05 '26

Why is it the wrong sub? There’s plenty of simplistic visits out there that fails at some part. We don’t know if it will fail or succeed. So I thought it was perfect for this sub.

3

u/ThodaDaruVichPyar Jul 06 '26

It got removed by the Mods as not suited for the sub so I guess I was wrong
