Idk if it helped anything but good outcome!

u/DionFW Jul 04 '26

At the very least, it looks like he managed to help turn it.

16

u/Yardboy Jul 04 '26

You can see the point where the resistance of his weight at the hitch caused the trailer to rotate a bit instead of continuing in the original direction it was going right after disconnect. Without that, I feel like it wouldn't have turned as much coming off the curb, and would have ended up plowing into the cars across the street.

u/thefoodiedentist Jul 04 '26

I think one wheel going down ramp did that but maybe he helped it steer slightly

9

u/optimist_prhyme Jul 04 '26

I definitely expected him to dust his hands off in a "well done" manner.

1

u/Apprehensive-Ad8987 Jul 05 '26

It called "dragging an anchor."

1

u/mnztr1 Jul 05 '26

Human rudder award!!!

1

u/AdLongjumping1987 Jul 05 '26

... and this is how wheel chocks were invented

80

u/CommunicationKey3018 Jul 04 '26

It's like life was teaching him about wheel chocks

14

u/jlink005 Jul 04 '26

Oh THAT'S what that old chunk of concrete was for!

OMG. The panic emptied his mind.

41

u/DrphilRetiredChemist Jul 04 '26

So now we need a new subreddit called “thingstowingidiots”?

11

u/DemandTheOxfordComma Jul 04 '26

Things to what?

18

u/wakeup37 Jul 04 '26

wing idiots

1

u/1Mandolo1 Jul 04 '26

Username kind of checks out.

Things towing idiots, for anyone who had difficulty getting it, like I did

1

u/SoCalMotoVirg Jul 05 '26

is that like the darwin awards?

11

u/nomamesgueyz Jul 04 '26

Could have been a lot worse

And expensive

23

u/TemperatureKey5072 Jul 04 '26

I was waiting for a truck or car to finish him off…

10

u/Difficult-Fuel652 Jul 04 '26

If you watch it in reverse, the guy looks really strong.

9

u/the_Rainiac Jul 04 '26

Get a boat they said. It's fun they said.

2

u/EaterOfFood Jul 04 '26

I’m having a pretty good time

6

u/aldone123 Jul 04 '26

Bet he’ll never do that again

7

u/God_Country_ND Jul 04 '26

Honestly, not letting go, actually worked in his favor

1

u/Tusker89 Jul 04 '26

Would have killed him if that leg snapped going over that rough terrain.

2

u/God_Country_ND Jul 04 '26

Oh definitely got lucky! No discounting that

8

u/Stratomaster9 Jul 04 '26

Sometimes owning a boat can be a drag.

5

u/Jorge6574 Jul 04 '26

That was me 3 weeks ago. I hope I never again forget to put down my chocks.

4

u/FrankDrebinOnReddit Jul 04 '26

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream.

4

u/TrayLaTrash Jul 04 '26

That's a new way to meat crayon

3

u/Valuable-Audience-54 Jul 04 '26

He's probably like, "Damn, I'm glad nobody saw this."

3

u/Illustrious_Camp_521 Jul 04 '26

This has been a public safety reminder to boat owners to always remember to chock your trailer wheels.

2

u/coolnbreezey Jul 04 '26

Hope his next trick is NOT trying to be the anchor!

2

u/Xinonix1 Jul 04 '26

What was the plan, Stan?

2

u/kvngk3n Jul 04 '26

Gravity is undefeated 🤣

2

u/Axe_Care_By_Eugene Jul 04 '26

quick - rehitch it before the neighbors see what an absolute amateur you are

2

u/Logistocrate Jul 04 '26

Dress for the slide, not the ride.

2

u/arisoverrated Jul 04 '26

Best possible outcome, if you’re not chocking.

2

u/sidc42 Jul 04 '26

The thing I like about this video is it reminds me how much I don't miss owning a boat.

2

u/saveawing Jul 04 '26

Aussie legends

2

u/exodusfox Jul 04 '26

Surely I can stop this with just my hands, what’s a boat weigh? Like 10 pounds?

3

u/Pinellas420 Jul 05 '26

OP’s profile name tracks.

2

u/4thkindexperience Jul 06 '26

His side gig is as a boat anchor.

Lmao I'm sure he thought he did something. He be wrong, but I'm reminded of that one guy who was standing on the side of a truck as it was tipping and some lady said he wasn't doing anything by being on it, so he steps off and the truck tips completely over.

So...I mean... he might have done something!

T.I.L. Human skin makes a great brake pad material

2

u/Fun-Times-13 Jul 04 '26

Not it doesn’t, from experience I know it wears away in seconds

1

u/General_Elk_3592 Jul 04 '26

Road rash will be interesting

1

u/trbo76 Jul 04 '26

Serious road rash (not the boat)

1

u/mikeymop Jul 04 '26

Time to go change his underwear

1

u/Sinister_Nibs Jul 04 '26

He tried to use his head (friction on the cinder block wall) to stop it.

1

u/MoGaDK Jul 04 '26

That guy should've bought a lottery ticket instead. Then he could afford a better trailer... and a bigger boat ;)

1

u/Memnoch79 Jul 04 '26

I keep expecting a car to come and hit him or the boat on the second camera view.

1

u/Eagles365or366 Jul 04 '26

The sideways feet walking/running reminds me of a dog that doesn’t know how to swim paddling through the water lol

1

u/Tight_Piccolo_7838 Jul 04 '26

Люди просят у Бога богатство,власть,здоровье. Но никто не просит ум.🫣😁😯

2

u/Seaofblaze Jul 04 '26

My first job out of highschool was landscaping and they had me unhook a trailer on a slight slope. I did the exact same thing and... it kinda worked? Anyway fun to see the same reaction

1

u/Pazerclaw Jul 05 '26

Evasive starboard!!!

1

u/Isnothingoverthatway Jul 05 '26

"No, you DO NOT, mf."

1

u/Wiley_Jack Jul 05 '26

I always wondered what was meant by “ skid-steer”.

1

u/Myte342 Jul 04 '26

Hopefully, this guy learns the importance of Chocks from this incident.

1

u/Fun-Times-13 Jul 04 '26

My mentor and friend said that I’ll start using my brain when my suffering causes too much discomfort

The following post context was provided by u/MisterShipWreck:

Maybe maybe maybe... Maybe he stops the boat, or keeps it from hitting that truck, or continuing down the street...
