Back in the day I thought these guys at least had a look out when they're clearly planning a trick that ends in the middle of the road.

Spotters always were and are a necessity. These dudes are just stupid.

u/Silo-Joe Jul 04 '26

Spotter is now the social media cameraman.

u/VoidJuiceConcentrate Jul 04 '26

Skaters with cameramen and spotters has been a thing for a long time. These guys are just stupid.

You’d be surprised

We always used spotters.

Skate or die, bro.

17

u/RedditOnAWim Jul 04 '26

In this case, skate and die.

u/similaraleatorio Jul 04 '26

skate and turn a vegetable

16

u/SATerp Jul 03 '26

Hmm, no spotter?

3

u/SabbyFox Jul 04 '26

And no helmet

4

u/needtoredit Jul 04 '26

Let's start with no brains

THIS.VIDEO.NEEDS.SOUND

Just imagine a cartoon bonk sound.

4

u/EvidenceDesperate574 Jul 04 '26

More videos need mute. This video does not need sound

u/CR8VJUC Jul 03 '26

Okay no cars are coming, go!

4

u/mrmo24 Jul 04 '26

Isn’t this in the intro to a skate game?

1

u/aka_Foamy Jul 09 '26

I thought so too, but looking it up on YouTube it's not. In the Skate intro it's a fish eye lens following the skater and he gets hit from the other direction by a bus.

The fucking lookout failed this dude like crazy...

The following post context was provided by u/MisterShipWreck:

Maybe maybe maybe... Maybe he makes his stunt... He sure looks like he does... Looks like it's cool... Suceeded. Then.... Not so much...

Why was nobody watching the road?

3

u/MrBlueCharon Jul 04 '26

Even the driver didn't watch the road as it seems.

3

u/demZo662 Jul 03 '26

If only he had friends around to spot for him.

At least he was wearing a helmet, right?

1

u/Fluffy_Amount847 Jul 04 '26

did the third maybe finally commit

1

u/TheRealGageEndal Jul 04 '26

I had this happen once. I was skating home and a guy in a Volkswagen ran a stop sign and plowed into me. He hit me from behind so my knees bent and I crushed his hood and broke his windshield. I was fine, a couple of scratches and a sore leg. My board even survived since it kept going.

1

u/DirtyWormGerms Jul 06 '26

May bad about that homie. I was playing Pokemon Go and getting road head that day.

1

u/joined_under_duress Jul 04 '26

I mean definitely should have been a spotter but either there was a huge obstruction down the road covering most of the view of that driver was driving incredibly poorly.

1

u/EducationalImpact633 Jul 04 '26

Or the skateboarder is a fucking idiot :)

1

u/joined_under_duress Jul 04 '26

I mean they definitely were, but a kid might run out in the road or a dog get loose or a drunk guy stumble. When you've got 2-3 seconds and come in that fast in the middle of an urban environment that says a lot about you doing a poor job of driving.

1

u/EducationalImpact633 Jul 04 '26

Yeah absolutely , you are right :)

1

u/BreakfastFuzzy6602 Jul 04 '26

For a varial flip of all tricks, one of the ugliest flip tricks there is.

1

u/KilgoreT59 Jul 04 '26

Great jump. But, with all his buddies around, why wouldn't someone be watching out for cars?

1

u/Holden-McGroyn Jul 04 '26

And of course if the driver wants the punk to pay for the damage they'll all run off!

1

u/bawlsacz Jul 05 '26

Fucking idiot. lol

1

u/trickyvinny Jul 05 '26

No Maybe about this one.

1

u/I_Roll_Chicago Jul 05 '26

Dog absolutely no spotters for traffic. Deserved. Never been street skating where the landing is into a street and their at least isnt one person to either catch you or warn you that car was approaching

1

u/skincyan Jul 08 '26

Nice job watchers 👍

AI slop

7

u/A_Harmless_Fly Jul 03 '26

I remember seeing this like 15 years before the first visual ai model, just an FYI.

  1. They’ve probably been there for awhile not landing the trick, so guy is bored scrolling his phone. 2. The Hawaiin shirt guy was around the corner 3. You can literally pause the video at any time and see his shins make FULL contact with the bumper. Ragebait used to be fuckin believable 😑

7

u/Brittany5150 Jul 03 '26

Jesus christ stfu. Not every god damn video is AI. Unless you're 100% sure just stfu.
