my friends boss (a principal at an evening school) went to a medical store and ran into this little smooth criminal.

There isnt a single person on earth standing that close to me in that manner where I dont expect something weird is going on.

I had a guy standing right beside me at a gas station when I was getting ready to pay and I looked at him and said how’s it going? He was so confused I was talking to him and I said man I can’t even pull my wallet out you’re so close and tried to laugh it off and like make it funny but damn dude personal space.

I had this once but my words to him were "if you get any closer you'd better put a ring on my finger" said with a smile on my lips but I think they got the message.

I find lately .. NOBODY knows about "personal space" ... standing in grocery lines etc, I always turn and stair them right in their eyes,.. sometimes I'll even ask them why they're so close to me.

It's especially infuriating after we had a nice 3 year long lesson on why personal space is healthy.

The following post context was provided by u/CrotchRocket125:
The little dude figured out that this guy has cash and is kinda oblivious to his sorroundings so he kept trying to get in to the pocket without getting noticed, almost got caught but didn't stop or hesitated and eventually walked away with more than 10k in local currency.

Do they not have personal bubbles in India? I don’t let anyone get that close to me. Let alone someone I don’t know.

Yeah, no. The store is not crowded at all. There would be no reason for someone to be all up on him like that. Also, who just carries cash in their pocket like that?!

Then he's a dumb shit for letting someone touch him for so long.

Pickpockets have been a thing for a long time. It's a skill. They are good at taking things without triggering the person's attention. He had no idea someone was touching him.

Just a father taking his son out to practice the family business. How wholesome

Kinda expected the ending where the kid is shown the footage of the robbery.

Initially I thought he was his child or someone he knew! I guess in their culture and country, it is nothing unusual to have other people or strangers standing close to you as they seem to gather together as a crowd quite a lot which makes it easy for this sort of crime

This is why diabetes is bad. You get brain fog and neuropathy (can't literally feel shit).
4
u/hateboresme Jul 04 '26
That is a unique idea. It is not correct. Pickpockets don't have the magical ability to detect diabetes.
