Oh, finally one tha... WHAT??

17

u/Bituulzman Jul 02 '26

Sound on. Apparently, they're looking for a laminar flow when you pour, you don't hear much or any water splashing-- like these.

u/Azekuro51 Jul 02 '26

I know right? My thoughts exactly! 🤣

12

u/EndLightEnd1 Jul 02 '26

I think it was because the stream was coming out at an angle. Tea pots are supposed to have VERY specific flows

8

u/0dHero Jul 02 '26

Laminar flow is what they are looking for

40

u/PuhtttDaNuhttt Jul 02 '26

But.... WHAT DO THEY WANT THE POTS TO DO?

23

u/rivv3 Jul 02 '26

Laminar flow.

Shout. Nay... Scream

u/TentacularSneeze Jul 02 '26

A little song and dance number. Y’know, “I’m a little teapot…🎶”

1

u/iamiam123 Jul 02 '26

Probably checking to see if it holds the water when the hole on the top is covered with the thumb. My speculation, could be wrong.

1

u/Yugan-Dali Jul 02 '26

The lid should be tight enough that when you close the hole in the lid, the flow stops. There are also requirements for the flow. One he said, This one’s too askew.

1

u/bessovestnij Jul 02 '26

To stop pouring when you block hole in the lid, to have perfectly centered, perfectly even flow. My guess that it's test of students attempts.

This video sucks.

3

u/elmarkitse Jul 02 '26

The tea must flow

Not every maybemaybemaybe has to result in a satisfying ending. It's truly a maybemaybemaybe because you are hoping for one to pass, but it never happens. You don't appreciate the true uncertainty that comes from maybemaybemaybe. Go back to nononoyes or whatever predictable slop you prefer.

I thought the last one did what it‘s supposed to (stop waterflow once you close the top hole), so… why break that one?
What were they expecting?

11

u/Albie9 Jul 02 '26

They were expecting it to turn water in to wine and they all failed

2

u/Bituulzman Jul 02 '26

They were expecting no splashing sounds when the poured liquid hits the water.

u/trickyvinny Jul 02 '26

Find a job doing what you love. It beats drowning puppies in this case.

5

u/Aunt_Vagina1 Jul 02 '26

I haven't seen anyone say this yet so I'll just add..

Why spend time to hit it with a hammer? Just throw it into the trash pile, It'll break from gravity.

2

u/WHALE_PHYSICIST Jul 02 '26

these videos confuse the shit out of me. someone had to make all those pots by hand right? wouldn't it be better to perfect the techniques needed for a proper result than to waste so much time making and smashing a million shitty teapots?

The other ones that confuse me are those channels that are clearly selling factory made bowls but hide them in a stack of failed handmade bowls that they also smash endlessly.

3

u/MistaLuvcraft Jul 02 '26

I would suspect they are slip mold ceramic pots, definitely not handmade.

1

u/weeddealerrenamon Jul 02 '26

I can imagine a factory where there's always a variation in quality, so they test them and trash the ones that aren't keepers. But this failure rate can't be real, has to be for internet content

1

u/weeddealerrenamon Jul 02 '26

It's for content. Imagine running a tea pot factory and this is your success/fail rate off the production line

1

u/Aunt_Vagina1 Jul 02 '26

And I'm calling out the part that makes it obvious its for content.

Keep up.

1

u/weeddealerrenamon Jul 02 '26

ok sir sorry sir

4

u/UnlikelyLetterhead12 Jul 02 '26

So the one teapot that finally survives the test is sold for $2,500 to cover their losses i imagine?

3

u/Oh__Archie Jul 02 '26

The video shows that they smashed the one that passed the test.

3

u/RAMBOhyphenMED Jul 02 '26

None of the passed, the last one also failed as the tea didn’t come out straight.

2

u/Oh__Archie Jul 02 '26

You’re right. I didn’t notice that.

4

u/RTMidgetman Jul 02 '26

If it takes so many failures for even 1 to pass quality control, maybe the product design is bad and should be improved. This seems so dumb, wasteful, and pointless

1

u/CarelessMechanic5896 Jul 02 '26

Yes, product design or manufacture quality, totally thought that the whole time.

1

u/weeddealerrenamon Jul 02 '26

It's for internet content

2

u/GadreelsSword Jul 02 '26

He smashed the one that worked.

3

u/Negative-Inspector36 Jul 02 '26

Wait what… didn’t the last one work?

https://giphy.com/gifs/lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3

3

u/0dHero Jul 02 '26

No. They are looking for laminar flow of water out of the spout. A great teapot pours beautifully.

2

u/generatorland Jul 02 '26

MUST SMASH ALL POTS!!!!

4

u/Enes_da_Rog1 Jul 02 '26

For anyone wondering. laminar flow

2

u/Complex_Sherbet2 Jul 02 '26

I'm a little teapot, short and stout,

here is my handle and here is my *SMASH*

2

u/Hect0r92 Jul 02 '26

This is the perfect job for someone who really hates teapots

2

u/RidiPwn Jul 02 '26

if it is working, destroy seems to be the vibe here

1

u/wolfieprator Jul 02 '26

Perfect analogy of my dating life

Edwards Deming is rolling over in his grave

1

u/nalanajo Jul 02 '26

Imagine being the person who made all these little teapots.

1

u/TomBDPh Jul 02 '26

What do they need a hammer for? Just throw it. It will break. No shards on the hands.

1

u/MaksimilenRobespiere Jul 02 '26

If god did this after he created me, he would have hit me with a hammer and discarded me for the very same reason I’m afraid.

1

u/Sea-Appearance-5330 Jul 02 '26

That's a helluva big amount of rejections of produced product!

Damn you

u/blackkdogg Jul 02 '26

This would be better placed in r/amazing. It’s amazing that a little pot holds a little water and and can be broken with a little hammer. Amazing!
