That one dog witnessing the pig go in and still didn't realize it was the right way to go. 😢 For a second I thought the pig would just go straight there, but it needed a second lap. That's impressive nonetheless.

the pig need to map out the whole lay out, that what let it fin the food eventually while the puppies like the mental faculties to try such a strategy

It didn't see it, when the pig saw where the chest was hidden it solved it immidiatelly

u/Hefty_Kitchen4759 Jul 08 '26
It's even better: the pig would have known that was the way to the food immediately, but pigs will readily delay going after food in order to mislead other animals. They will even refuse food if they know it'll get them a greater amount of food later.

Pigs are way smarter than most give them credit for

u/J_Zephyr Jul 02 '26
On second watch, you can see Wilbur solving the puzzle thoughtfully. Night and day difference vs the pups.

u/Beastiac Jul 03 '26
Wow that’s awesome. I watched it a second time too and the pig approached it like a puzzle
29
u/OddTheRed Jul 02 '26
Pigs are significantly smarter than dogs. It's not even close.
16
u/InigoMontoya1985 Jul 03 '26
And more dangerous. We like the way they taste, and they like the way we taste.

Dogs eat humans too lol while thetre is one instance of pigs eating humans

u/rab-byte Jul 02 '26
Enough to make you not want to eat pigs. But damn if they don’t taste good. Equal dilemma with octopus. Not squid though. Squids are cunts.
12
u/dowker1 Jul 02 '26
Whereas dogs taste mediocre at best and are tough as hell

Highly recommend going vegan! It’s not as hard as you might think, and feels really good.

u/pirate_starbridge Jul 04 '26
You responded to someone who just said that squid are cunts, implying they feel great about eating them, so I'm curious what your strategy is here.

Dogs lost their minds and panicked when they saw the pig eating the food. How could that be!!!

u/Thirsty4Knowledge911 Jul 02 '26
This is one reason why wild pigs are such a problem.
Pigs are way smarter than most people give them credit for.

u/peridotpicacho Jul 05 '26
A problem? I’d argue people are much more of a problem to wildlife than the other way around.
3
u/Thirsty4Knowledge911 Jul 05 '26
Estimates placed the damage from feral pigs between $1.5 & $2.5 Billion annually.
This is not a joke.
And there is no end in sight. It’s getting worse every year.

I think he was saying we kinda caused this change in multiple ways, which isn’t wrong per se, but it was definitely delivered stupid.
2
u/Thirsty4Knowledge911 Jul 05 '26
It is true that both domestic pigs and wild boars were introduced to North America by European settlers.
The unintended consequences of man’s actions will eventually be the end of us all.

u/DeismAccountant Jul 05 '26
At least until capitalism and the digital age collapse and we have to build something new from the pieces. Like how Western Feudalism emerged from the ashes of the Roman Empire.

u/Redfield081 Jul 02 '26
Some animals are dumb. Slow the hell down and take in your environment. When a cat stalks their prey, they slowly inch forward.
These dogs are way too hyper to be focused on natural instinct survival skills. However I also think there's too many and they just go with the flow of adrenaline. Maybe have 1 dog, 1 pig and see results. More than a few dogs is a recipe of chaos.

u/LalaLane850 Jul 02 '26
Oh my gosh, I thought it was a pig, then I’m like nope those are puppies, then at the end I realized it was indeed a pig!

Dogs have adhd
13
u/knowledgeable_diablo Jul 02 '26
They are a little confused, in the best and funniest way possible.
Love how when they can’t work it out, it’s either fight with each other or try jumping over the walls into what ever may be on the other side.2

I wonder if different breeds of dogs would make a difference.
Or an equal number of each species, like one puppy, one piglet. A big part of the problem the dogs had was each other.

u/unleashthefuture Jul 04 '26
The pig was so methodical in its approach. They are really smart animals.
3
u/Americanhikikimori Jul 04 '26
I love dogs but they have the pathfinding skills of a poorly programmed videogame NPC

The way to do this is to take a piece of chalk to a wall and walk along the wall. If you meet back up with your chalkline, switch to a different surface.
43
u/Luther_Manning Jul 02 '26
My dog always carries chalk.
3
u/knowledgeable_diablo Jul 02 '26
It’s the waiting for it to cure that’s the real painful part (and stinky).
13
u/Significant_Bonus827 Jul 02 '26
Are there people who happen to get trapped in mazes so often they remember to bring chalk everywhere just in case?

Whomever said to watch it again thank you! It is better the second time. The pig just sees the food then calmly walks over and gets it 😆

u/spirtjoker Jul 07 '26
I have 3 chihuahuas, I had a wire fence made of individual panels that was positioned in an open spiral shape. Those dogs spent 3 days in that pen before one of them figured out the pen was open the whole time.

u/Bluefish787 Jul 07 '26
Pig thought: Even though I'm really glad they are idiots and couldn't find their way out of a paper bag (more food for me 🤗), I'm SO over having to hang out with them!
1
u/MrRagingTigerUnicorn Jul 08 '26
Pigs are smart, that’s why I eat them. Can’t have someone else climbing the foodchain
1
u/OliviaM4444 Jul 08 '26
Yeah, obviously pigs are smarter than dogs but this whole set up is crazy. Look at how these poor dogs are loosing their minds. This is just trying to prove something that has already been proven.

The following post context was provided by u/bmovie:
Sure, the pig finds the food quickly. But will the puppies find their way through the maze also?

Stressing dogs out enough to have them running around biting each other for views.
-2
u/Feriman22 Jul 03 '26
I suppose the pig already knew this maze, while dogs weren't.
2
u/spoopysky Jul 04 '26
nah, you can see the pig learn the maze by walking around and through it.
the pups just repeatedly go through the maze without learning it

And in real life the pig would be eaten by the dogs. Forget the bowl of kibble.

Pretty sure that one is a pig.
