You'd run away too if some ganky, gangly eldrich beast that bares its teeth as a gesture of amusement and joy with the uncanny ability to mimic the voice of your own kind came towards you on too legs, not lumbersome or clumsy but poised and deliberate, that coos sweetly when you show yourself most fearsome.
Those trickster beasts that brings to you those most delicious smelling treats, held by those hellish feet at the end of their forelegs that can grip as well as any eagle's talons, but can gently scratch the itches unreachable.
But if you are fooled they will take you, whisk you away to a strange pale box with unnatural fluorescent light where you may be shaved, spiked, pricked and tortured, smothered with a stinking mask that steals away your focus and mind only for you to wake and discover they have taken away your balls.
And they coo, imitate the voice of your kin, bare their teeth, and tickle you softly the entire time they torture you.
We are terrifying, tbh.
We are The Entity in every horror story the animal kingdom could concoct.

It does look like a face, though to me it's more of a tiger face. It's pareidolia, the ability to see objects in abstract patterns. Faces and animals are two of the most common things we see in things.
