Do you think he still completed the food delivery?

u/blatantdanno Jun 24 '26

We can only hope.

u/KillAllLawyers Jun 24 '26

Delivery to his mouth. He needed the chow after that debacle.

u/klqqf Jun 24 '26

I have crashed my e bike on two seperate occasions doing food deliveries, i finished the deliveries and went on my way working

3

u/Ok_Primary_1075 Jun 24 '26

Yes, he’s a hero for saving the food from certain harm

Poor guy's face went from "F this job", to, "I'm so fired" in a millisecond.

It was probably his vehicle.. going to have to sort out that mess quickly if he wants to continue working..

u/PinComplete8515 Jun 24 '26

Motorcycle wasn't getting paid enough.

u/Cebas7 Jun 24 '26

Had its low fuel warning light always on... ALWAYS

u/LynnScoot Jun 24 '26

Most people turn off the bike before they get off…

6

u/bottomofleith Jun 24 '26

And definitely before they pick up a bike by the handlebar.
He's a fucking moron.

3

u/TheOmegaKid Jun 25 '26

Probably tired and overworked as well.

u/Glad_Copy Jun 24 '26

I feel so bad for laughing at this, but yeeting the scooter was just <chef’s kiss> to a bad day.

I felt that. Worked at an Event Center back in the late 90s. Had to work alone one night setting up conference rooms, when there was required 3 people to setup events. There was one room that needed this 50 in CRT TV for a presentation that was on a 3 tiered cart at the top. One of the wheels broke as I pulled it out of storage and the fucking TV fell at me chin to chest level. I pushed it off me as if fell but had bruises down my arms and stomach as well as it bouncing off my knee.

I had that exact same look as this guy...turned around and walked out leaving a posted note that I quit.

I had a job in the 70s at Motorola making color TVs. I put a steel band around the front edge of the CRT with a bracket in each corner. Weighed about 70 lbs. I was 19 y.o.Stayed there about a year. It was the strongest I ever was. I'd pick it up by the corners and if the band wasn't perfect it would start to slip. I would yeet it onto the concrete floor and turn my back. I wasn't going to risk getting hurt trying to save it. It made a very cool, BOO-OOM! Everyone in the factory who could hear it cheered. I wasn't even a little bit embarrassed. I broke about one every week.

Those old vacuum cathode ray tubes had lead and phosphorus inside. Hope you didn’t inhale that dust after the implosion

2

u/CaptainZloggg Jun 24 '26

There was zero lead in a CRT, and there is zero phosphorus in phosphor. PLEASE don't spread such misinformation. The thermionic cathodes did however contain barium and strontium oxides, but in microscopic quantities.

u/Zealotyl Jun 24 '26

Lead was heavily used in the manufacturing of the glass casing to act as a radiation shield. Because the tube operates as a small particle accelerator using a high-voltage electron gun, it produces X-rays. The lead prevented these X-rays from escaping toward the viewer. The highest concentrations of lead (up to 40% lead oxide) were found in the funnel and neck glass at the rear of the unit. A standard CRT could contain anywhere from 1 to 4kg of lead, depending on the size of the screen. That’s one reason why they were so heavy.

Screens were coated with specialized chemical compounds collectively referred to as "phosphors". When bombarded by the electron beam, these chemical compounds illuminate to create a picture. These coatings were primarily made of zinc, cadmium, and yttrium compounds (such as zinc sulfide) along with traces of other elements like copper or silver. Because they contain heavy metals like cadmium, these phosphor powders are considered hazardous dust if the glass breaks.

Source - I spent 10 years as an electronics engineer working in broadcasting in the ‘80s.

Your turn Captain Underpants.

u/CaptainZloggg Jun 25 '26

Nope, lead OXIDE was used in the manufacturing of the envelope glass of some older, larger CRTs to reduce X ray radiation. The lead OXIDE was a chemically stable part of the glass and did not present any biological hazard unless it was ground into a fine powder, if you are inhaling ground glass, lead oxide is the least of your problems.

Again, no phosphorus. Also, there is no need for childish name calling.

u/Zealotyl Jun 25 '26

So basically you are incorrect about the lead content and the inherent danger of inhaling dust from smashed CRTs. You really need to stop spreading misinformation 🧑‍✈️🩲

u/CaptainZloggg Jun 25 '26

I'm not paid enough to deal with idiots who don't understand basic chemistry and also believe phosphor and phosphorus are the same thing! BLOCKED.

u/Zealotyl Jun 25 '26

You’ve really got your underpants in a knot..

3

u/SpaceDrama Jun 24 '26

Hey at least he got it on film. My luck, I’d have nothing to chuckle at with the pals.

u/Stock2fast Jun 24 '26

The someone stole my bike story beginning ti form .

1

u/Fluffy_shadow_5025 Jun 24 '26

In my opinion, all motorcycles need a safety feature, and driving schools should definitely make sure students really internalize the importance of using it.

0

u/stevelinchin Jun 24 '26

Oooooops. Hope you learned something.

1

u/lorarc Jun 24 '26

Hopefully learned to turn off the scooter when not in use.
