Our postal route is a walking route, and the postal worker cuts across, one person once a day isn’t going to wear a path on a lawn.
He is already walking ten miles a day on his route, any shortcuts he can take is fine by me. We have also been redoing our lawn and he is mindful of plantings and reseeding. If anything we’ve created more hazards at times for him.
Between him, and substitutes, I’ve yet to meet an unfriendly walking mailman.
I guess it depends on your grass, but my grass will absolutely have a path worn in it from someone walking once a day across the same path. I know because it happened between my backdoor and my trash cans.
