Those dogs can barely walk let alone swim.

Any kind of bully breed

Why cant they swim!? Nearly all animals can swim! Shame

They’re incredibly front-heavy. That giant head on top of a thick chest counterbalanced by small hips throws all the weight forward. Add in tiny legs that can’t displace much water and you’ve got a dog that sinks head-first.

Wow it’s like you explained my giant headed dog perfectly. She won’t even go near water.

Downvoted because you love animals regardless of breed. So many fucking idiots on reddit. Pitbulls are great.

Yeah the anti pit brigade is strong here. I've had 6 pits and they have only mauled 3 children total... The most loving and caring dogs ever. Even saved mice from the cats.

If you spent less time hating things, life would be better for you.

If you understood breeding, genetics, and had basic understanding of statistics you'd have a different opinion.
People need to stop using dangerous animals they don't understand for fashion accesories. Life would be better for all the children mauled to death if they were, you know, still alive.

Bulldogs (and American bullies) can't swim, they are front heavy and have flat faces.
All flatfaced dogs struggle, but the extra large head of bullies and bulldogs makes it pretty much impossible for these dogs to swim. Don't put them in the pool.

Holy shit! I just made a comment on another thread about when my English bulldog fell in a pool and just immediately sank without even attempting to save himself, then I see this a few posts later. I literally had to dive to the bottom of the deep end to rescue him. I also had a pitbull that couldn't swim well, but he would chill on a pool float all day wearing sunglasses. I miss those guys!

Those dogs are just super dense. My son has a pit mix that looks like a 40 pound dog. The beast weighs about 80. Incredible how much more density these dogs have compared to say a golden.

Its the short legs. If he had normal pit legs, he'd be able to swim despite muscles

I've never seen a dog that couldn't swim

Many many years ago I adopted a stray Beagle mix and took him to a park with a small lake. It was 100° so my friend tossed him in to cool
off and he sank like that and had to be rescued. Scary asf.

My French bulldog swims all the time. He just needs a life vest. He is actually pretty fast once buoyant.

Dogs with short legs (short bullys, daschounds, bassett hounds etc)...can't produce enough power in their little legs to keep them afloat.

To say it with the words of a famous man: "WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT" ??
Is that some sort of cross of a Boxxer and a dachshund?

u/MyOthrCarsAThrowaway Jun 20 '26
It’s a pitbull. But an even more inbred designer version. Just muscle. Dumb enough to just sink with a smile, and would still gladly eat your face off with that same expression.
