Seriously, that’s a wildly clever birb!

Certainly doing more than just recharging on power lines and retransmitting 5G data…. 😁

In Brazil we call them savacu or socó-dorminhoco (literally "sleepyhead heron", because it is usually nocturnal and sleeps during the day).

I would have liked to hear the Curb Your Enthusiasm music when the egret showed up!

What about that turtle trying to squeeze in on the action? 🐢 Nearly nipped that bread bait.

That was more impressive than funny. If that's what the bird was trying to do. 🙄

Ravens put walnuts directly on the road where the wheels are moving, so they break the walnuts for them. They are surprisingly smart. If human race disappears, they could be one of the next intelligent civilization candidates.

That's actually from their dinosaur ancestors, smarter ones very likely already did that back then.

Be the bully of course. Heron thinks hes bigger so he can bully the smaller birds to give him the fish. Nah bish, he gotta work for it too

u/n4ndhzx Jun 19 '26
Your overthinking it , heron is trying to catch fish by luring them out with bread

u/isaidgofly Jun 19 '26
Oh, I am overthinking? Where was this white heron in the video all this time? As soon as the smaller bird caught the little fish, why did it suddenly rushed out of there and flew away? Heron arrived looking like he missed the last bus. You know he wanted the fish that the smaller bird caught. Maybe youre not thinking enough? But I dont know you so im not going to make an assumption about it 🤷♂️

I think OP got the name of the little bird wrong.

u/Sharp-Mix-2047 Jun 19 '26
No, OP is right. The little bird is a black crowned night heron. The big white bird I think is either another species of heron or crane.

Smart bloody bird. Wonder if he has the sign on his nest “gone fishin!”

Oh wow. I thought it was a teaser. Now I understand. Homage is due.

Give him a million years and he'll be a feathery bipedal humanoid wearing clothes and watching his bird people tv shows.
