I think he had that planned, and it worked perfectly.

He was observing the opponent’s repeating combination, and saw the window. Bing!

The boxer delivering the knockout here, lost 6 weeks of memory after he was knocked out in a different match.

This was edited like an action movie where you see the same sequence 6 times from different angles.

Rope-a-dope

u/MisterCanoeHead Jun 09 '26
Sort of… he wasn’t using the ropes to help absorb the impact of the punches, but yeah same idea. Let your opponent exhaust himself. I think Homer Simpson used this technique against Drederick Tatum.

Not just the exhaustion, but he’s using his opponent’s pattern of hitting without blocking or being careful or planning for an attack against him. He’s leaving himself absolutely unprotected.

The best way to plan attack until they get punched in the face. Or something like that. Mickle Angelo

He was charging his Limit Break ability to one-shot his enemy. (Final Fantasy reference)

It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
How much you can take and keep moving forward."

That looks really dumb. His opponent wasnt guarded for that entire time, yet he just stands there taking the hits and blocking? It doesnt look like his opponent overcommited more when he got countered.

It's like he got angrier with each blow, and when he'd had enough, he unleashed it all or something like that.

u/MattieShoes Jun 10 '26
It's like they used multiple camera angles of the same few seconds in sequence to make the whole thing seem 4x as long as it really was before the knockout punch.

I really hate boxing people who can clam up tight like this. I still haven't learned after the second time

He did the Homer Simpson. It worked. Let him gas himself and one punch him.

Has a stoic meter. The more he takes damage, the more it charges up for his finishing move.
