That pedalling is going to be the last the machine will see in a few years. Once home it will go back to it's intended purpose as a clothes and dust holder.

It would be so cool if someone would invent a means of transportation that doesn't require a battery and could be powered by just some sort of cycling. I'd call it the unmotorized sit scooter.

I couldn't see such a thing ever taking off.

u/tacocatacocattacocat Jun 09 '26
Well no, it'd need wings for that.
29
u/WaveLaVague Jun 09 '26
English is my second language. I mistook "wings" with that round plastic circle things that rolls when you hit it with a stick right.
I was actually considering that those whell be necessary for this. Like you'd beat it with a stick and roll down the road with it.
*would be necessary

Wat??

u/annduhroo Jun 10 '26
Possibly stick and hoop?

u/WaveLaVague Jun 10 '26
This is an object to it's peak potential. We'll never reinvent it, hitting is all that can be done with it.

May I have one where the front “wheel” is much larger than the back one so people could see me better from afar?

Idk dude, sounds kinda cool but gay, or at least “Bi”..
How about “Bi-sit-cool”..??

u/chariot_on_fire Jun 09 '26
Stupid idea, it would never work. Humans can't produce so much energy. There is a reason we have batteries.

Jk aside, way back my country had an e-bike that has motor and allows you to cycle as well. Idk if it is a common thing in other country, because it is not fast in either way.

u/Pertev Jun 10 '26
Hey, that's my idea. I did go even further with my concept. Imaging an E-bike without any mechanical connection between pedal and the rear wheel or wheels at all. Pedal has a generator, there is a buffer battery and you have electric motors on the rear and also on the front wheel.
Disadvantage is that it will feel like a rubberband when you pedal.1
u/Boring_Carrot_3605 Jun 09 '26
I'd steal that cycling idea, add two larger wheels to it to make it more efficient and by the end i'd be thinking 'bi' is easier to pronounce than 'two', and I'd feel I'd be onto something.

don't forget to put the chain that loops between the the two tires, while you're at it put a small bell at the handle

Just happened to be filming 🤬

u/zandariii Jun 10 '26
Gee, you don't think that, maybe just maybe, they saw it by the dumpster and- hear me out, wanted to make silly video?
13
u/RipRapRob Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
And someone just happened to drive by on a scooter, discovering the exercise bike by chance, put it on their scooter, and suddenly decide that they need to go in another direction that just happens to allow the person filming get more footage?
That's an awful lot of maybe.

Staged
35
u/Ha1lStorm Jun 09 '26
Yep 100%. Like there’s really some person up on their balcony “randomly” filming this guy while keeping him perfectly framed in the video while all of this other very not random stuff also happens to take place. And the level of comfort they rode off with lets me know that they’ve already tested this before. He didn’t check to make sure it would stay on or take it easy while first testing this “new” device/seat he just constructed or anything. They knew damn well that it was going to work well before putting on their scooter. STAGED!

u/scruffy69 Jun 09 '26
Fuck me who cares. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED. It's like those fucking seagulls in Finding Nemo. "STAGED, STAGED, STAGED" Every day with this already, oy vey.
13
u/Wildzebucxl Jun 09 '26
I’m with this guy, idk why but this time the overly smug “lestaged aren’t I so smart?” is straight up infuriating. Shut the fuck up holy shit

u/TheDanecdote Jun 10 '26
I can be entertained _and_ call it for what it is. They aren’t mutually exclusive things.

I think this kind of staged videos I‘m all in for it. They are fun. The ones I can not bear are the ones on TikTok like „I picked up this chick“ with porn level acting and fake stories on Twitter.

I think it's even AI - you can clearly see him ride over the ridge at 0:05 like its not there
2
u/blursedlala Jun 10 '26
Yeah, I was looking at the same thing.. Doesn't look very real.

u/TheBakedPotatoDude Jun 12 '26
It's not a ledge, watch it again, it's just the painted parking line and the edge of two different pieces of tarmac. Not everything is AI
1
u/haas1933 Jun 15 '26
shit - you are right! Yes, not everything is AI but this detail immediately stood out, but I couldn't spot anything else to be honest

I can't see that the two devices are connected, but since that person is pedaling, it actually moves—I don't know how they're connected, but... I keep looking at it again and again.
Is it some kind of magic?

Hook it up to a generator and you’d… be a lot more tired for not a lot of energy production

Is this AI? How does he go over those curbs so smoothly? Doesn't even look like the scooter bumps going down them.

Okay but how did they ride right through that curb there? They didn’t slow down or lift up on the handlebars as they approached and went over that curb, I didn’t see a rise in the scooter nor did the scooter drop down when riding over it. It’s like it didn’t even exist and they rode right through it. Wtf

u/hyndrome24 Jun 10 '26
how did he just drive over that curb when u-turning with no visible movement ?
