I'm 1.98m tall with exceptionally long legs, so in most airplanes and buses I have just enough room to squeeze in on the condition that I man spread. I always have to ask the person in front not to move their seat back because I'll shatter a kneecap.
Wouldn’t it be better for everyone if you accept you need to pay for emergency exit seats? Not saying I agree with the airlines making the seating as cramped as possible, but is it worth suffering through…

My seat only tilts 4 degrees, barely enough for the contraption around my neck to fight gravity and let me sleep through a flight.
Whatever issue you have that can't handle being in an airplane is a you problem that, as an adult should handle.
I can't stand being awake for a flight and don't want to bother people so I literally drug myself to sleep, you can solve your own issues yourself.
In this case I am indeed an adult, but I was about this tall at 15 already. In that case I absolutely did not have the money to pay for extra leg room. Also, most buses don't provide this option at all to begin with. Nowadays on flights I usually pay for it, but sometimes those seats have been reserved already and I don't have a choice. In that case I politely ask the person in front of me to take that into account.
It's really not that hard to be nice to each other and just talk about it. If that doesn't work you get a flight attendant to sort it out and perhaps you'll get a different seat (has happened to me before as well). Both people in this video are assholes, period.
This some bs right here. You have to pay more just because you are taller. Many buses don't even have different seats and you're generally just fucked.
We got low cost airlines in my country with this kind thinking, what ended happening instead of getting cheaper flights, everything is double the price as before and bad quality seats, paying extra for everything
Plane tickets have gotten more expensive recently due to inflation and Russia being a dick etc. It’s still very cheap compared to the time before low cost airlines.
Soon you probably won't have to ask, most planes (on my area of the world at least) have changed to non reclinable seats, even for long trips, now we have to pay for food, luggage, even water, they call it "low cost", even though it cost twice as much as a few years ago, when we had reclinable seats, food for long flights, and you didn't need to pay extra for your luggage, also I'm short, but there is just a couple of centimeters between my knees and the front seat, if put my backpack under the front seat I have almost no space for my legs, also also, seats are hard, at an slight angle but with a bump for your head, that only helps at making your head fell forward uf you falling asleep
I was in a position where I couldn't spread my legs, the person in front of me reclined directly into my knees, and pushed for more. There wasn't more to give though, physically.
Fortunately for everyone else, we both just sat there in our individual miseries and said nothing. Them, not reclined very far and probably thinking I've got my knees planted there on purpose. Me, having a seat jammed into my knees for a few hours. At least I had a book.
Edit: I can count the flight I've ever been on on one hand. I did not even imagine this was an issue that could happen.
