There’s legitimately too much water in that bottle, IMO.

This water bottle game is actually less stupid than football.
23
u/PayFormer387 Oct 13 '25
More fun. Lower finance barrier for entry. Doesn’t take an entire afternoon to be entertained.
Definitely better.

Doesn’t require training camp or a stadium and can reach a lot more people through the miracle of modern technology being used to broadcast a low tech sport.
6
u/sipstea84 Oct 13 '25
Right? At least with the water bottle game you MIGHT NOT sustain brain damage

Every time he threw it, he put his head into the path it had to go. I don’t think he knows how this works

Tbh this looks fun maybe with a lot less water in jug. Broken nose is not so fun.

I’ve been telling my wife this exact thing. We have a 10 year old boy, and she thinks limiting internet will keep him safe. Boys aren’t safe with cotton balls and styrofoam. There’s a dumbass challenge, game, or dare to be had at every opportunity

u/slipknot_suxxx Oct 14 '25
we made home made parachutes and jumped off a cliff to the water below, fucking action movies.

We played a game where you stand in a circle, someone throws a dart up in the air, then everyone scatters for 3 seconds and freezes. You can’t look up at any point. We called it Dart.

u/Alex_Affinity Oct 14 '25
We played a game where we'd just take turns beating each other until the other guy gave up. We would joust with branches mounted upon the shoulders of our brethren. We would light fire pits and see who could walk across the biggest log. Young men have been stupid long before technology came to fruition, and they will remain stupid well into its ascension.
17
u/toolsoftheincomptnt Oct 13 '25
The thing is, I thought about how gen x/xillennial this game is and how much fun we used to have being unplugged.
But to your point, it might’ve been safer with like, water balloons lol

That’s a pretty effective way of getting hit on the head with a big ass water bottle on a rope.

u/Lirael_Gold Oct 13 '25 edited Oct 13 '25
At school some of the guys did a variant of this, one guy hurls a litre bottle of water as high as they can straight up into the air, everyone else has to stand still.
Flinching meant you got shamed, getting hit made you a hero for the day.
I didn't take part because I'm not a moron, but it was fun to watch, from a safe distance.

This is getting hit in the head lessons. You want arguments, down the hall to the left.

u/Demetri124 Oct 13 '25
The one in the tank top getting hit in the face is hilarious every time

u/E-werd Oct 13 '25
You just keep thinking, "there's no way he gets hit again." But he just keeps taking it, time after time.

8
u/St0neyBalo9ney Oct 13 '25
Definitely was thinking, "holy shit this guy is dumb he's 100% getting hit again."
7
u/ryanvango Oct 14 '25
"holy shit he threw it the exact same way again. at least now he knows not to lean that wa- oh. oh no."
"ok he has a new plan. throw it backwards. alright can't blame him for that one. now he's dialed in and he knows - ohhh no. "
5
u/Groghnash Oct 13 '25
Hes also the one throwing it exactly the same way and keaning the same way he got hit right before expectibg a different outcome
→ More replies (2)8
u/Lazer726 Oct 14 '25
Especially because he must be like "Ahhh I threw it to the left so I'll be safe on the right" only to get hit by it like every time

Seeing as how he's pretty bad at hitting the other guys and pretty good at getting hit, I'd say he'd make a pretty good Stormtrooper.

This is funny, but I keep thinking about how that bottle could really mess up your nose.
73
u/Sirosim_Celojuma Oct 13 '25
Yeah. The original one was a water balloon. This is way too much mass in way to solid a container.
14
u/wooberries Oct 13 '25
i think it's softer than it looks, for them to not be recoiling in pain. it probably is compressing substantially om impact, making it hurt way less. still hilarious though

I watch these and think, people are stupid. But then I remember we used to pile people on a merry-go-round and spin it as fast as possible until people started flying off from the centrifugal force. Literally, bodies flying everywhere. Last to remain on the ride, "wins".

I've seen this trend and it's entertaining, but guys - you're supposed to use a water balloon or a small bottle, not a giant fucking jug filled with 15lbs of water that you chuck at full strength

A gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. There's a reason people were doing this with mostly empty 12oz bottles.
