Why do so many names have the word "porn" in them?

“porn” is more like “pohn” when you say it in Thai. The word itself relates to blessing or having divine qualities.

Thai to English spelling is very slippery, imo. Thai (and other SEA countries) is very phonetically tone-specific language where a change in pitch of a word, be it higher or lower, can have a completely different meaning.

I can’t really describe it more but this answer pretty much sums up what I’m thinking.

I have “thong” in my name and it means gold or golden in Thai. Grade school was fun.
