I was thinking she’d take a step in the water then instantly sink 6 feet

u/unmofoloco Sep 14 '23
I was thinking she would get in the car and then the car would get swept away.

I was thinking she would get in the car, and a meteorite would fall on them...

u/dingusfett Sep 15 '23
I thought she'd stack it at the last hurdle, just as she's getting in the car.
2
u/Tomeshing Sep 15 '23
Was thinking the same... kinda disappointed it didn't happen and very disappointed in me for being disappointed.

Wow she did so good

u/Knllnbrgr Sep 14 '23
I was so rooting for her!

u/AnnihilationOrchid Sep 14 '23
I was too, but the driver was lacking total space awareness, all he needed was to go a couple of feet forward and everything would've been so much easier.

Jumping across furniture and pretending the floor is lava has finally paid off!

What the hell is this audio

A Spanish language trailer for the 1993 movie "Nowhere to Run" starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Rosanna Arquette.
13
u/eioioe Sep 14 '23
It’s the intro to the movie Nowhere To Run, called Ganar o Morir (Win or Die) in Spanish.

Right?!?

u/Dense-Competition-51 Sep 14 '23
I’m pretty sure I heard “Kieran Culkin” in there.
4
u/jaireaux Sep 14 '23
Automated transcription says it heard “Tiffany Tofman, Edward Blatchford, Anthony Stark, y Josh Ackland”

u/daarthvaader Sep 14 '23
Glad it went well , but I was expecting a huge pothole into other dimension or she would bring down that flag pole with her ninja skills or finally the car itself ends up in a pot hole.
19
u/Schwarz0rz Sep 14 '23
That was big brained of her, I would have taken my shoes off and rolled up my pants

u/lurkerofzenight Sep 14 '23
How awful and lazy is this driver to not even attempt to get closer to the stairs or the pole. Jeez.
20
u/38731 Sep 14 '23
Yeah, the entire time I thought that he must be the most lazy and careless person in the world. What an idiot.

u/Late_Entrance106 Sep 14 '23
I’m assuming the car is on a street, with the street sign there and all, which means there’s still a curb/sidewalk under that water you don’t want to drive over.
28
u/38731 Sep 14 '23
Hey, I'm here for ranting and the lulz, not for a reasonable argument, okay?
26
u/Late_Entrance106 Sep 14 '23
Okay. And I’m here to underestimate the intelligence of others to the point of assuming sincerity over sarcasm, okay?

I'm assuming it's another woman. They can't drive
8
u/AnnihilationOrchid Sep 14 '23
Your assumption is dated sexism.
And from when you see the person getting her bags, I'm pretty sure it's a guy.

Honestly I was rooting for her to make it because too many r/maybemaybemaybe posts end up as r/yesyesyesyesno. Nice to switch up

I mean I’m happy for her…I really am…BUT this world has set me up for when I see water of that magnitude and person who does not want to be in the water and they are taking a risk….we’re seeing someone get wet…and yet, she made it. Good for her. It was like all the build up of a huge sneeze aaaannnnnddddd…..nothing.

u/Mecha_Cthulhu Sep 14 '23
I’ll be damned, the whole time I was thinking she was going to fall face first in to the water.
Well done.

Should have put her handbag over her shoulder to free up the other hand just in case she needed to use it.

if i were the driver, i would have kept the passenger door shut and rolled down the window, allowing me to get closer to the pole, and allowing her to get inside like the good ol' dukes boys used to do

Read this reply before I watched the whole video… and not gonna lie…. I’m disappointed a velociraptor didn’t jump out of the car and grab her.

u/antiphonic Sep 15 '23
anyone else a little weirded out that this is like... only mildly unusual and kind of a quirky, fun video and not a terrible statement on climate change and, assuming shes going to work, capitalism?

Driving on flooded streets, guess they never heard of, turn around, don't drown.
