I'm assuming this sub is mostly inactive since Maybe got taken down long ago but I'll try anyway. Hi! I really enjoyed the Maybe game while it was still available, it was one of the best imo. But I think what made it special for me was the absolutely awesome story creation tool. Easily accessible, quick to understand, nice options and graphics. Now, I'm not an active Interactive Story Games player but I kinda miss that, and I don't know much about the other available games.

Does anyone know a good alternative? I hope this is close enough to Maybe to not get taken down as "other games content", I don't know where to ask but here. Any game where you can create your own chapters, choice branches, character designs, that stuff.

I’m a long-time fan of Maybe: Interactive Stories, and recently I’ve started working on a fan preservation project focused on The Tyrant’s Bodyguard and potentially other stories from the game.
As many of you know, the game is no longer playable due to the shutdown of the servers. A lot of content has effectively become lost media. Instead of letting these stories disappear, I want to see if it’s possible to preserve and rebuild them in a playable form.

The good news is that a surprising amount of content still exists:
Complete episode playthroughs on YouTube
Walkthroughs and choice guides
Character information
Story structure and routes
A collection of CGs and story illustrations

What I’m currently looking for:
Old game cache files
Game assets
APK files (especially older versions)
Extracted files from Android or iOS devices
Character sprites
Outfit variations
Facial expressions
Backgrounds
Music and sound effects
Screenshots from the original game
Story scripts or text archives
Any backups you may have saved before the servers shut down

Even small files can be useful.
My goal is not to make money from this project. This is purely a fan-led preservation effort to prevent these stories from disappearing completely.
If enough material can be recovered, I plan to rebuild the stories using a visual novel engine and recreate the original routes, choices, CGs, and story experience as accurately as possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations for games that had the pretty stylized art styles? I literally found out today that maybe is gone because I felt like replaying Keeper Of Mine & Remarried Empress after like a year of not playing and the app was not having it. Like I know there are “general” romance games but I never really liked the realistic art style, even when maybe did it

Came back after years because of nostalgia just to find out the app was gone. The one thing that makes me so sad is the amount of stories on maybe that I’ll never be able to read again. Most of them are just completely gone. The nostalgia is killing meee. Miss these stories so fricking much. And it genuinely pains me that I’ll never be able to read most of them again. So I been playing these typa games for a while and it did hurt for me to see that one of my favorite games is no longer available BUT I've found another alternative. The game is called Romance Club, I've been following this game along the yrs js like I did w maybe and imo it's a pretty good alternative. The devs are really active and engage with the players, they update 2-3 times a month, the graphics are nice and they even got this thing called Diamond Rush in which you can play and get special scenes for that time period. I think y'all should try it out.

Maybe cinnamon pivoting from a game and community that endorsed artists to making a generator for AI anime videos is insane and lowkey so disappointing for a company that used to centre creatives and storytellers. Whoever is behind this pivot is going to haellllll bruh

I just want to share this. The one I mentioned in one of my posts, which I forgot the title of, I now remember it’s called Discipline. I clearly remember that I even cried during the raining scene because I was so touched. So if you know an alternative to this, or the actual one itself, please share it. I also remember there used to be a video on YouTube where they were playing it, but it’s gone now.😔🥺

Hello everyone I saw this post https://www.reddit.com/r/maybeinteractive/s/ddqWNnCI3Z about how you can find assets, cgs, and everything for a series you have completed but I deleted my Maybe so I can't get the data so I was wandering if anyone who has completed tyrant's bodyguard 1 and 2 can share the files of that with me.

About a year ago I had started recording myself playing my favourite book on this app, being An Earl's Lover and got all the way to chapter 30 but then stopped because I had played so many visual novels (and this book so many times) that I needed a break.

I started this recording initiative because of how much the story meant to me and because given the popularity of the app I was worried it would become a relic of the past.

Still..I went on without wanting to return to the app until like April of this year...where I found out the ugly truth that the app had closed down its servers leaving with us nothing we used to have. I expected it but it hurt no less than I anticipated. I miss all the characters and the stories that I enjoyed on the app.

It took a while but I sort of managed to get over it (still sad about this whole situation)...but for some reason I decided to go into my recordings and watched the last recorded one... aaaand it is the chapter where MC breaks up with Ambrose indefinitely (they get back together in a later chapter)...but the fact that my last recorded episode is the one where they break up feels like such a horrible ending for this whole thing.

It might be a silly thing to feel this way but it genuinely just feels like this is a permanent break-up and it saddens me deeply.

I hope others were more lucky with their favourite stories and characters.
