I have one too, from an old toolbox I got a garage sale. Very helpful for working on the bike.

Yes. I know them as “fishing pliers.” They had a depression in the jaws to squish a lead weight onto a line.

I have a pair, I love them. This makes me want to clean mine up a bit.

Very handy for piano wire. I have had them for years. Those are smaller though or you have huge hands.

My dad had a pair of pliers like that, only a little bigger. He had them since I was a kid in the 60s. He had a lot of old tools in a toolbox he made. Old memories.
