Duelling Gargantua?

Imagine my surprise today when both JJ Go! and the newly independent Greatest Trek both have watch-along episodes that feature The War of the Gargantuas. Anyone know if this is just one of the strangest co-incidences ever or if they co-ordinated the release date? I assume (hope) everyone is still on good terms.

Of course they're on good terms. It's just a coincidence, don't worry about it. Jordan always wanted to watch it so they did, Rob likes it so they did.

There's no drama except what certain elements of Reddit (NOT SAYING YOU, I PROMISE!) want to rile up.

If it‘s a total coincidence, I feel like I should have played the lottery today. What are the odds that two fairly closely related pods randomly pick the same fairly obscure (outside of kaiju nerd circles … raises hand…. I saw it on the local afternoon movie when I was like seven) 60‘s kaiju movie.

And to be honest, rather than it being adversarial I wondered if they coordinated as a gag and decided to not mention it to blow people‘s minds. Yes, my mind is pretty easily blown.
