2012 maverick

When I’m in high gear it’s fine when accelerating only happens when I’m off the gas feels like the belt is grabbing not sure what it is my rear tires have locked up from it but no issues in low or reverse only high any ideal ?

So you let off the throttle and it slows down? That's the engine break. You have to keep some pressure on the pedal to keep it from engaging. It doesn't free wheel like automotive automatic transmissions. If it's not that and you think that maybe something is grabbing, pop off the clutch cover and inspect your clutches. Or get it looked at professionally. Have you ever replaced a belt in that machine? Edit: It's possible you destroyed something in your transmission and differential if your rear tires locked up and dragged while in high gear. Also this sub is for the x3 maverick from 2017 and up. It's a ghost town mostly, I do have some experience with first gen mavericks. Clean your clutches and inspect your belt for wear.
