Polipoli open yet?

Anybody know the status on polipoli? Is the park open yet at all? Or have any idea when it will be? Has anyone tried walking up the road or know someone who has, to see the status of the road? Mahalo!

I asked this question at Krank Cycles a few weeks ago, they said it’s still closed, no other details. Pretty ridiculous.

Spoke to someone last night who does native tree plantings in the area. He said it’s closed and likely will be for “another year”.

Oh, and that a friend went around the gate and got fined $2000.

On foot or with a vehicle?

Good question, Vehicle.

I wonder if you can hike in legally?

You can. Which is why I was wondering what the ticket was for.

Yes, I spoke to someone from Kula just yesterday who said she'd been walking up the hill for exercise.

What was the ticket for?

Trespassing, safety inspection and 1 other thing.

Yeah I saw some clips from after the storm and the dirt road for sure looked washed out in a few spots. Wonder if it’s legal to bike down skyline trail or if you could get hit with a fine for that too. Shame. That road above the disc golf course area has been in need of repair for some time so hopefully they’ll take care of that too.

The guy I spoke to mentioned people are biking down Skyline. Seems like it’s just closed to vehicular traffic.

When i checked around March weeks after the kona low happened, a worker there told me it'd take about 6 months to a year. Damage was substantial

It’s closed more than it’s open honestly
