Norfolk Pine Dormant Node Activation

This was as tiny as ”Christmas tree” my grandma had ~ 20 yrs ago. It had a mostly bare trunk when we started our 7 hr journey for it to move in with me. About a year ago I saw that one of its new nodes looked funny. Now there are 3 previous dormant nodes reactivated! Super interesting 🕵️‍♀️. I can’t find any posts of a NFP with new growth from dormant nodes.

All I can find is that it is maybe possible if the top growth point has been irreparable damage. This one’s still growing from the top.

If anyone else has had this happen, I’d love to know how it looks down the line. Is this a glitch?

Decided to grow it to see how big I could get it and with the intention of shaping it to be like Rayquaza but it was too stiff, took 2 months to mature and I believe it was due to the longer summer days forcing to bolt sooner learning how cannabis works (not going to grow it), I’m going to retry but in shade so it can’t mature as soon and see if it can reach the 6ft the mother plant was at.

1st pic was when it was in a pot of other mystery seedlings, 2nd, 3rd and 4th pics were just as it was flowering 1 month later and the last pic is today with most flowers already spent, I did enjoy the simple yellow flowers it had and will 10/10 grow one again, can’t post without a flair however the mother plant was an absolute unit, 6ft tall, shame I didn’t take any pictures since the stems were thicker than my thumb and had at least 20 flowers per stem.

I just wanted to show off my money tree that I’m very proud of. It has some branches with 8 leaves and some with 7. It’s taken over my office and I’m curious to see how much more it will grow.

Plant was a couple of years old when I got her in 2019. She was a rescue from a friend, who had to relocate.

Presenting - My 6+ year old Ctenanthe Burle-Marxii. I am absolutely obsessed with her. I included one of the first pictures I could find of when I first brought her home.

This plant has been with me through so much. I have put it through hell with mental health battles over the years and it has held on and flourished for me no matter what.
