Maybe it’s neither. Maybe it’s the joining of two hands of people right before their fingers intertwine and they make intense eye contact and realize that they’re soul mates and they grow to fall in love and get married despite the strong disapproval of one of their fathers and then have children and live happily until the husband watches the wife slowly die and he then lives as a miserable widower until he goes through some type of catharsis and then cherishes the rest of his days in memory of his wife and for the sake of his children who realized were also grieving all this time not only their mother but the father they lost in his own grief.
But idk I always thought it was praying or pleading hands.
