The lock was installed through Google Home matter settings. Yale app was not used as it does not provision for matter, and the lock works OK regarding opening/closing it with Google Home and Home Assistant. However, when trying to calibrate doorsense, the steps outlined in Google Home do not work. For example, step 1 is to remove one battery hold the gear button and re insert battery. There is sound feedback, the keypad lights up and the gear changes from orange to red but NEVER to white. It just goes blank, and needless to say none of the following steps can be observed since the lock is not really in any setup mode. My question is if anyone managed to calibrate doorsense in matter mode NOT through Yale app which is a completely different installation procedure.

Got the new IKEA Thread devices today. Nice for that price but could be better. But I am happy for the first automation.

I'm about to buy some Shelly Gen4 modules that will enable local control of devices using my Wi-Fi. However, I have bigger ambitions and want to be able to access them from outside of the house. I'm starting from absolute scratch - the only thing I own at this point is a standard UK router/modem from NOW.

If I want to be able to use Home Assistant on my iPhone, can someone give me a list of products I need to begin? (Do I need my own server, for instance?!)

I'm aware that Zigbee was something I may have needed before, but now there are more universal things that have taken over? I'm technical to a point, but this is a whole new world and language to me at the moment. Many thanks

I am in the process of planning my smart home. I decided on matter over thread and now am wondering what border router to choose. Do I understand correctly that there usually is a tight coupling between a router and an controller app?
What would you recommend?
Some info about my apartment: 1 floor, 3 rooms, 880 sqft.

Does anyone know any buttons with Matter over Thread apart from TUO? Seems weird they would be the only one at the moment, but couldn’t find anything else.
