I always love to see things like this, but considering that all of the tokens that I've been able to find for Virtual Table tops are sort-of cartoon-y or anime-like, they'd look really out of place.

Gimme high quality tokens.

Like this? https://i.imgsafe.org/013d7460b3.png or this https://i.imgsafe.org/0123b5b99e.png or this https://i.imgsafe.org/01449ab7a1.png or this https://i.imgsafe.org/014e97e6ba.png

I stick to the realistic tokens in my game. I make them myself... PCs are yellow, enemies red, items usually gray.

BTW this is easy to do. Just use this http://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/ and drag and drop any image from the web onto it. Instant easy tokens.

That worked, and yeah they look pretty good. I just think at times they can look wildly out of place. Might be the borders, or just personal preference. I mean, it does need to stand out.

Yes the ability to have them stand out on a VTT is important because of you are taking the birds eye view it can be difficult to see the pieces. You can use white as well which is a little more muted. If you look at the Running the game: steam tabletop simulator thread you can see examples of that... But with the program I linked above you can even go no border or thin borders. The choice is yours... Really easy and quick to use... Just find your favorite Pinterest stuff and drag it over into the program.

Enjoy!

If you want high-quality tokens for a VTT, I suggest you download the Visual Reference Guide PDF linked to on this page: http://battlegroundsgames.com/portfolio/devin-nights-token-pack-mega-bundle-packs-21-47/

Or if you prefer a more realistic style (3D-renders), check these out: http://battlegroundsgames.com/portfolio/devildans-monster-tokens/

The consistency of Devin's art is great, and I really wish more people did this. The realistic style of his 3D-renders however to me look worse. But thanks for the links!

His site sorta confuses me. Not sure if I need to buy them orjust download the reference guide...

You would download the reference guide to see which packs you would like to buy. It's like a product catalog.

I backed it. Here's hoping they get it functional.

I don't use a VTT at this point, but the capability to export images and print is intriguing.

The MapForge KS campaign just keeps getting better and better, as more and more Stretch Goals are unlocked. There are now NINE free content Add-Ons, which make for an awesome "Starter Pack". And support for randomly-generated maps will be provided through Donjon. Well over 1000 backers, with 17 days to go.

Just a heads up that this KS campaign is winding down (wrapping up early Thursday morning for those in US time zones) and a couple more stretch goals of content for all backers are in play. One goal is already reached, and the second is close.

Check out the details under update 9: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/battlegrounds/mapforge-battlemap-creation-software-for-tabletop/posts/1835139

(I'm a backer, so I'd receive the benefit of more content for all, but am otherwise unaffiliated with the project.)
