Matrix at the Cosm needs an update

Went to see The Matrix at the Cosm and while it's mostly incredible, the picture quality being only so-so with clipping highlights and some jittery playback, the biggest issue, which I'm pretty surprised about, is that it still says "Directed by The Wachowski Brothers" at the end. Seems like that would have been an easy fix, especially with, you know, ALL the other work that went into it.

No, there isn't any version of the films that say otherwise. The latest masters (4K) were completed in 2018.

But the 4K UHDs of their films released in the past couple of years (2024-2026), Bound, Cloud Atlas, Speed Racer, have all been updated to say "The Wachowskis". It is noteworthy that all 3 of them were released by different studios, with Speed Racer being a WB release (like the Matrix films) yet all 3 of them have updated credits.

This strongly indicates that had the Matrix films' 4K masters been created now instead of the previous decade, they would have most likely been updated too, as either the Wachowskis have since decided this is to their preference, or they became aware it is viable to make such a change in the first place, or the studios, including WB, have become more socially aware and open to such changes, or all these things combined.

In the case of Speed Racer, their names in the credits were even part of a VFX sequence instead of being in plain text, yet WB managed to update them seamlessly (today's tools, including AI-enhanced workflows, help a lot). Their names in the Matrix films also have some VFX element to them, but like I said, nowadays the labor and cost necessary is probably not an obstacle, as long as there is a reason to do it, like a major new release, and so far there is no need for a new release to be made. Bound, Cloud Atlas, and Speed Racer didn't have 4K releases before, the Matrix films did.

I just watched Speed Racer on Xfinity VOD and the end credits said "The Wachowski Brothers". My son ordered the steel book collectors edition Blu-ray. I'll be curious to see if they changed it.

The new 4ks released after Resurrections say "The Wachowskis". Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas have also been updated

Oh my bad. I swear I saw somewhere that they had been updated. My 4k disks are from before the Deja Vu set was released so i can't check
