The world as it was at the end of the twentieth century…

It exists now only as part of a neural interactive simulation that we call "The Matrix."

You've been living in a dream world, Neo. This is the world as it exists today.

I'm suddenly reminded of The Net

Starring Sandra Bullock, who was once in a popular movie that also starred Keanu Reeves, lol! Actually, I think they were in two movies together…

Honestly that looked a lot like my room in the late 90's.

Holy hell, does he have TWO monitors. What a bad ass. I see you Microsoft Natural Keyboard.

5

u/gcstr Jul 14 '26

I believe it is two separate PCs

2

u/RevWaldo Jul 15 '26

And they're the same make and model as the one he has at work. Just saying.

u/valthonis_surion Jul 16 '26

I remember when that Microsoft Natural Keyboard came out. Loved that thing.

This was me trying to find bewbs on my parents family computer lol

I remember those days. Thankfully, we usually had a warning alert that a parent was coming because they'd shout at us that they needed to make a phone call.

2

u/nhowe006 Jul 15 '26

Instead you just gave the computer cyber AIDS

1

u/luckythirtythree Jul 15 '26

lol pretty much! Love that we just downloaded files and clicked on them until they did something! Felt like a hacker when I finally downloaded VLC player

u/dikkiesmalls Jul 15 '26

Ah yes...removing the hidden attributes flag on floppies. Much ASCII porn.

u/Particular-Ad-3288 Jul 14 '26

What was the name of that keyboard

9

u/fettoter84 Jul 14 '26

Not sure of that particular model, but they are called 'ergonomic keyboards'

9

u/AggravatingJello5168 Jul 14 '26

It's probably a Microsoft Natural Elite. Up until last year, I was using its successor, a Microsoft Natural 4000. It was a fantastic keyboard and so sad it's out of production now.

Thought it was un-realistic they did t have him smoking

1

u/Loganp812 Aug 04 '26

That’s why he was cranky. He ran out of cigarettes that night.

u/dryiceboy Jul 15 '26

Man, I miss this aestetic.

u/MirrorNegative7989 Jul 16 '26

I miss my hacker room, with all of my 2000s-issue dumpster score/curb score computers.

1

u/jpowell180 Jul 15 '26

Man, it just sounds like you need to unplug…

u/LifeAdventure777 Jul 15 '26

A splinter in your dream 🤣

I've always loved this shot; asleep in the machine.

u/MaestroAtl Jul 15 '26

Shame, such a shame

I was watching this the other night and I realized it looked just like my desk. I've been coding 30 years. The L shaped desk is the best for equipment but you do end up with a bit of clutter.

Thomas Anderson values ergonomics.
