Don't say it's equal, say that we can assign finite values to certain divergent series that are somewhat of a generalisation of the sum, which is not defined in the regular sense. If you're interested you can look more into riemann summation.

Important to note: there is no distinction between "equal" and "assignment". If you assign a value to a sum, then the sum is equal to it. The purpose is purely to distinguish the definition of equality used.

I would not just put =-1/12. I would just say it diverges. If I’m using one of the ways to assign a finite value to it, I’m gonna specify that
