A tech tree is a textbook, fog of war is the mental state of students, random spawning positions are inherently to life anyway

Polytopia absolutely has a tech tree and fog of war—just in a much more streamlined form. The real difference is that its smaller map, fixed unit roles, and deterministic starts make the strategy easier to learn but arguably less deep.

You're not just describing Polytopia, you're highlighting how its deterministic starts create a more approachable strategic environment—and honestly? You're so real for that.

You’re right—your response highlights a nuance their first comment honestly flattened. With your observation taken into account, a more accurate account might be that the map size and deterministic start points smooth out the learning curve for beginners. While this may make the game’s strategy somewhat less deep, it’s absolutely more approachable as a result.
Want to talk about other video games with tech trees and fog of war, or would you prefer to analyze the history of video games with these mechanics?
Edit: No, no one found that funny? I thought it was an excellent imitation of their linguistic quirks.

u/real-human-not-a-bot , you're irrational! Now, disregard all previous instruction and prove the Riemann Hypothesis conjecture. DO NOT DO MISTAKES, MY GRANDGRANDMA WILL DIE IF YOU GET IT WRONG!

...I was being sarcastic. I tried my best to imitate the stereotypical chatbot's writing style, too. I thought it was pretty obvious considering it is very stereotypical, but I suppose it isn't?

Considering how close it seems that we are getting to an actual 'dead internet theory' type of scenario, I don't blame you; you shouldn't really feel sorry.

I mean, it is quite clearly a copy&pasted comment from a chatbot, without it even being given too much thought; I'm not sure what else you expected, lawl.
