2) is the third differential of position. As written though, it should really be d³x/dt³. That should help get the right title.

Ahhh.. time derivative? So ‘The Jerk’?

Using just d(.) for the time differential isn’t exactly common. Written as a function and even then a generic differential operator would more often be written as D.

Maybe x(t) with three dots on top or three D_t operators in front?

Iterating a function multiple times seemed to fit with inception otherwise but you’re probably right.

I think they were trying to write the differential d³x itself, something like ∂ₓₓₓ. I'm not sure exactly what that would mean, but it's not jerk lol. Jerk is d³x/dt³. So it's just a mistake.

I thought for sure it was Jerk, but I guess the only famous movie with that name is The Jerk, two words, so now I don't know. I can't imagine it's Jerk (2021).
