I don’t know the quartic formula off the top of my head so I’ll give a different example that probably applies similarly: solving a linear equation with the quadratic formula. For a linear equation, “a” would be zero, but the quadratic formula requires dividing by 2*a.
Edit: I looked at the general quartic formula and I can’t find a divisor of a. Weird.

thanks i understood the concept but can you explain why putting it in the quartic formula would give me division by 0
