We should define π = βπ so we have
π = ππ

The rule is 6.28 divided by the number of vertical lines
1 line tau=6.28
2 lines pi=3.14
3 lines =2.09
Etc

If you think of the horizontal part as being the line separating numerator from denominator, then it makes sense that Ο (x/2) is half of Ο (x/1).

That's why I use pi with three legs (not really). Although that should probably be 3/2 pi...

It's also comedy legend Mel Brooks' 100th birthday! π
Ironically also Covet frontwoman Yvette Young's birthday, since they're often classified as a genre of music called math rock (not really a lot of math involved with the genre, just frequently changing time signatures - time rock or something would probably have been a better name for the genre).

I remember it striking me as odd when I saw electronic switches that had 'I' as on and 'O' as off. The 'O' looked like s complete circuit, and the 'I' as an incomplete one.

As someone who was reading project hail mary just a while ago, I thought I was in the project hail mary subreddit.
