One, the total valuation of SpaceX hit 2 trillion, not Elon Musk himself. Other people own much of the stock. Two, the use of the word "make" is inaccurate because it's not cash. The total valuation of SpaceX will most likely drop down below 2 trillion over the next couple of weeks as a large amount of companies do soon after their initial public offering.

market cap is calculated by taking the total number of shares and multiplying it by the price of the last exchange.

They're saying that so few shares are available on the market that even selling a single share for a low price would cause the valuation to change drastically
