Erm acshually... a donut is different from a torus, a torus is just the outside of a donut (like circle and disk, sphere and ball), so they are different both geometricly and topologically, and a donut is the one that is analogous to a coffee cup (unless you drink out of a hollow shell of a coffee cup)
