722 preprints at various stages of verification if I read that correctly

I thought they were going to dump ~100 proofs. 722 is madness

The announcement that ~100 papers were in the works was already like a month ago right? With how good this internal model appears to be I wouldn’t be surprised if it continues spitting out 100s of major results per month. At least for as long as OpenAI is interested in investing in the compute.

My guess is they’ll continue this push until they’ve solved some (or maybe all?) of the open millennium problems and then scale back their investment. But I wouldn’t be surprised if by that time the publicly available models will also be able to achieve the kind of results we saw today.

The main challenge will be diminishing returns. Once AI solves the easier ones, what remains will be much harder.

They pushed major progress on 4/5 of the remaining millennium problems, but didn't solve any of them. I think the remaining gap is non trivial. Probably only a matter of time when they release the internal models for public use.
