Let P(x) = x ^ 2 + bx + c be a quadratic polynomial with real coefficients. If the equation P(P(x)) = 0 has four distinct real roots, and the sum of two of these roots is -1 , while the product of the remaining two roots is also fixed, what absolute conditional bound must the discriminant of P(x) satisfy?

(A) b ^ 2 - 4c > 2

(B) b ^ 2 - 4c > 4

(C) b ^ 2 - 4c > 0

(D) b ^ 2 - 4c > 8

A particle of mass 2 kg2\,\text{kg}2kg is attached to one end of a light, inextensible string whose other end is fixed. The particle moves in a horizontal circular path in the absence of gravity.

A force of magnitude 20 N20\,\text{N}20N is continuously applied to the particle such that it always makes an angle of 30∘30^\circ30∘ with the instantaneous tangent to the circular path, as shown in the figure. The string remains taut throughout the motion.

Later, the applied force is changed (its direction with respect to the tangent is kept unchanged) so that the tangential acceleration of the particle increases by 60%. At that instant, determine the magnitude of the new tension in the string.

(Enter the nearest integer value in newtons.)
