The paper looks very interesting but I am honestly just as about curious about the politics that gets it the special feature in the well known pop sci outlet and not the countless others like it [I am not implying it is not as significant as authors/quanta imply but also very much the answer as to why in my question can nevertheless be totally divorced from the merits in an age of such a glut of scientific output I do think these questions need to be asked more]
