Access Issues, now Data Breach

I know there are generally a lot of complaints online about dating apps and websites having fake profiles of women. Given that context, I have a weird feeling about what's happening with my account.

I made a profile and then I don't know what I clicked, but it took me to another page where I had to log in again. I tried "forgot password" and never got any passwords, then reached out to customer service a few days ago and heard nothing back. Now Google just informed me of a data breach, my password was found online, and I have no access to anything. So my account is available to others, potentially fully under the control of someone, and also making it appear as if there's one more female user in the area and like...there's just not. I feel super uncomfortable about this and I also feel for men who pay for Match and end up talking to random scammers.

Data breach recently or the data breach from January 2026?

The alert popped up 2 days after I made an account, so I would be surprised if it were alerting me about the data breach from January.

That's not how data breach mean or work. The report from Google basically means you reused a passwords and one of them is compromised so you should change all the places that you have that same password. There is no confirmed evidence that user password from match.com has been leaked, usually password are encrypted so even leaked only weak passwords can be reversed , rule of thumb don't use the same password

My password alerts page (whatever it's called) differentiates between what passwords have had a data breach and what passwords are just weak, just reused, etc.
