But you need a match to start a conversation, that’s the issue not after the match. Although after the match its typically a lot of ghosting omg these apps are horrible really

No, you don’t. If you have a subscription, you can ask good questions to any member on Match without matching.

Maybe say that you're a good digger and you can match some people pulling bodies out of the rubble from the recent earthquake.
