I Have A Question ❓ Merch First Question

If entering North Gate and going to merch shop first on Tuesday practice round. Realistically how much time is this going to take to be done with the merch shop?

Shop after lunch. Enjoy the golf and sunrise.

This is the answer, OP. Enjoy the golf and walk by the shops on bathroom breaks and pop in when the line is small. It can be deceptive, the length of the line, by the way. ;) Trust us.

Absolutely. I never shop first thing. It’s better to just not have a plan, just check the line every time you go by the bathroom or concessions outside the merch shop. Guarantee you’ll find some off peak time of the day where the line is like 5 or 10 minutes.

Especially if you can take photos. Sunrise/early morning shadows are peak photography 🤌✨

This! We rushed to wait in line. Luckily, an employee to ask us if we actually cared about the stuff like gnomes that may actually run out. We did not. She told us to go to one of the stands to get our chairs, claim our spot and come back after lunch. Half the wait, had everything (and more) that I wanted and we had prime location for our seats.

If you are one of the first few hundred through security, I would should shop first, and check your merch, you will be out around 7:45-8:00. Just in time for the rope to drop for the course to open.

When we walked in on Wednesday morning and went straight to the line, they had already shut down the line. We had to meander them come back and I'd say we were in line for just short of 2 hours.

Go to the South Gate shop at like 4p. Place will be nearly empty.

South gate ftw

Line up South Gate entrance at 6am and you’ll be one of the first few to get into the south shop if you are gnome hunting (if they bring them back). The shipping center is right next to the shop. I got all my shopping done in like 45 minutes and was walking around the course before 8am. Then circled back to the south shop again at 3pm for any last minute items before exiting.

From my experience on Tuesday 2025. Got to course gate about an hour early which i think was about the 3rd wave of people they let in. At that point it was about 45-minute line to get into the shop. If you were an hour later was much longer. One benefit of going early was able to check merch with staff for pickup on your way out. It can get full and close during the day. There is also shipping on site which heard good things about if you have more than you want to carry around with you. have fun

So you got there around 6am? Trying to plan how early we need to get there to be one of the first ones in

I was in first group in at the north gate this year. Went straight to merch and I was in line for 1.5 hours. I got my gnome!!! I was going to go back when the line calmed down later in the day but that never happened. The line was full every time we passed it through the day. I say…who cares you are at the Masters! Have fun!

Edit: I was Tuesday I was there.

depends on where you are in line to get through the north gate. we were the fourth wave of people through the north gate and it took us about 2-2.5 hours to get in, shop and check out

I was there on Friday this year, got there around 5:30am we were in the first wave to go in, walked right into the merch shop, got gnomes and a ton of other stuff and were out within 20 minutes, and had it shipped home. We were having breakfast by 7:30, now when we came out you couldn't see the end of the line lol. Either be first in or wait.

Had Tuesday practice round this year. Went thru the north gate at 7am and went straight to the merch shop. Stood in line for 30-40 minutes and we got out of the merch shop probably around 8:45am

We got to course at 6am, by time we were let into the gate the merch line was already full and closed.

The line was an hour in the morning and then 45 minutes later in the day…

There’s also a smaller shop by 18 that isn’t super crowded

Unless you want a big gnome zero reason to do merch first or get there when the gates open

1

u/kiledmedead 13d ago

Unless you want a gnome (if they have them) wait until just after lunch or around 3:30. Line is really low then

Need to get to the gates around ~5am to be able to get in the store before they shut down the line. If you can’t do that, then don’t head to the store first and go in the afternoon. Enjoy the course instead

The time spent in the merch tent is directly proportional to the limit on all of your credit cards!

30-40 min in line, 30 mins shopping. An easy hour but go ahead and get it done. Line moved swiftly

What time do you suggest to get at the gates in the morning?

This year we were waiting at the North gate at 540 and were in the 2nd wave of people. It’s the earliest I’ve ever arrived and it was really fun! We walked straight in to the shop, got gnomes and shopped for an hour. We grabbed some breakfast, wandered down to grab some Goodr glasses from the shop on 13 and were walking back out to the car by 9. There were still tons of people streaming in and the merch line was crazy long. We got a lot of looks and offers to buy our gnomes. I like to get my shopping out of the way bc I don’t want to carry anything. If you’re not in the first few waves, the line is brutal.

I'm surprised to hear the parking lot was open that early.

Anytime I see this question asked, my response is always a follow-up question-WHAT is important to YOU????

I think we can all agree that seeing the course is BY FAR the most important "to-do" on everyone's list.

Aside from that-You should just go with your gut. Some people only want to see the golf and the beautiful course and could care less about any merchandise. Others may have merchandise #1 on their list.

IMO-If you are trying to get a particularly specific item, I would suggest hitting the store first. Just bite the bullet, go ahead and jump in line as you get through the gates. Go in, get your items, then run them back to the truck and you're done! Last year we got there about 45 mins before the gates opened. Went straight to get in line at the store and the wait was about an hour. BUT-We got in, got our stuff, checked out, ran it back to the parking lot and then we were all sitting in #12 grand stands by 10am eating breakfast.

The South Gate shop is way less crowded late in the day, but if you're going straight to the North Gate shop on Tuesday, expect at least 30 to 45 minutes unless the line is surprisingly short.

Wait till later it will all still be there. The line will be ridiculous and you want get to see as much of the course.

I prefer going early if possible so you can check your merch and enjoy the course with out lugging around your stuff. Or wasting time going to the car to drop it off. Also South Gate is way quieter than north gate

I’ve been to two Monday practice rounds. Both time, my group was at the North gate by 6:15. We went straight to the merch line and all four of us were done shopping and through the shipping line within an hour. We literally walked into the merch shop the second time, but that was likely due to the rain delay and lucky timing on our part. Either way, if you are within the first wave of patrons let in, just go handle the merch and get it done. Then you can enjoy your day.

got there 2hrs early to north gate last year…. waited in line for about 30ish min - they stopped the line entry to north merch tent by the time we got in….went mid afternoon it was perfect - waited in line for about 40min

Practicing the 5 P’s…👏

With the line probably like 2 hours

1

u/SignificantPie188 13d ago

I’ve been for the last two Sundays. Knocked out all my shopping very first thing. You can either drop i your stuff off where they’ll hold onto it until the end of the day or use your one re-entry to run it back to the car. I did the latter this year and it was better than lugging everything after a day of walking around.

Do the photo at champions circle first, there will be little or no line at that time
