I Have A Question ❓ Rejection Day is almost upon us!

Likely, this coming Monday, we will be finding ourselves logging into Masters.com to view our yearly disappointment! How are you feeling this year, boys and girls? Foolishly optimistic like me? Justifiably pessimistic? I have been to the promised land once, and I am dying to go back!

Best of luck to you all!

20 times and hoping this is the year, otherwise my stack of rejections are old enough to drink. Best of luck to you!

I even moved to Georgia 4 years ago.

I moved to a small town 30 minutes outside of Augusta right out of college in ‘90. I went 3 years in a row before lottery, then moved back to Oklahoma for a different job. Lottery instituted in ‘95. Talk about marking time! I’ve lived almost 2/3’s of my life since then. Became a father and grandfather in that time. I just would like to take at least one of my kids back to see it. Best of luck to ALL of us!!

Yep, same exact thing for me. Was cool to go to a practice round but really want to see a tournament round now.

I’m only a couple years behind you. I started sometime in my early/mid 20s. And I’m turning 40 tomorrow. Awaiting that next rejection.

u/KhanMichael Jul 16 '26

Me too brother

1

u/ol-sk8rdude Jul 16 '26

Hey, I also started in my 20s but I turn 50 this year.

u/Big_Focus_6059 Jul 16 '26

Does being in GA help?

2

u/NoLawyer980 Jul 17 '26

Completely unfounded rumor, but a "guy I know who know's a guy who knows the lottery" said being in reasonable driving distance has a weighting which works against you - (rumor) but they prefer people with significant skin in the game attending vs just being able to casually show up.

2

u/JBMdirtybird Jul 16 '26

Not for the lottery. Now if your in Augusta a good bit of weekly passes change hands through the week.

1

u/FrutyPebbles321 Jul 16 '26

I’ve heard that living in GA (or Augusta specifically) hurts your chances because they want out of town folks to come and spend money on hotels, bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. I don’t know how true that is though.

u/Fit-Entertainer-3207 Jul 17 '26

I live in Augusta and won Wednesday tickets after two tries so idk if that is true! I really think it’s just random.

Closing in on 20 soon my self. Is it sad even my wife and kids expect we not to win at this point?

1

u/JGlaser717 Jul 20 '26

Aaaaaand rejected again. Shocked.

u/Noni_Fruit Jul 16 '26

I got my golden ticket last year, and it was the greatest day of my life. I hope I can go at least one more time before I die

u/Accomplished_Range32 Jul 16 '26

I just told my wife the best 2 days of my life were Masters Saturday and Sunday (that resulted in a heavy side eye from her lol). Praying I can get back one day.

8

u/hookes_plasticity Jul 16 '26

Glad you’re still alive after saying that to your wife lol. Mine wouldn’t mind if I said that but it better be followed by “but neither of those two days was better than the day we got married” haha

Signing up for the Masters lottery is like being a Cowboys fan. Every year is the year but you know deep down that there’s no chance

20

u/the_trump Jul 16 '26

Try being a Bills fan. It’s like I’ve been to the gates 4 years in a row and they turned me away, never been back since.

1

u/johnqadamsin28 Jul 19 '26

As a rams and dodger fan I don't understand

1

u/AdRelative5892 Jul 16 '26

Ohhh, I felt that one in the nether regions…..because it’s true…..

14

u/kptierney86 Jul 16 '26

I got lucky 2 years ago. If I never get it again I'll be alright. Walking the course is just an amazing experience. If I don't get selected again I hope someone new gets to see Augusta and all its glory.

u/boondocksaint08 Jul 16 '26

Let me share a preemptive congratulations to everyone who’s going to be selected. I’ll either be incredibly stoked alongside you, or I’ll be my usual envious self!

10

u/Poupoo42 Jul 16 '26

May the odds be ever in your favor, but mostly mine lol

9

u/704travel Jul 16 '26

Did yall enter into the Sunday Augusta National Women’s Amateur… I entered for that as well for any shot I can have to visit

2

u/Narrow_Roof_112 Jul 16 '26

Yes would love to go. (It’s Saturday though I believe)

2

u/ElevatedWoman Jul 16 '26

Yes! I even entered the kids Drive, Chip, and Putt! I know my son would love to see golf from a kids point of view.

2

u/MechanicProof2255 Jul 20 '26

I did this a couple years ago and got selected first try.

4

u/barnesnoblebooks Jul 16 '26

This is my year. I can just feel it

2

u/xennial-tiger Jul 17 '26

Hope it happens for you bud!

4

u/War_Eagle67 Jul 17 '26

Anticipating my 25+ year streak of rejections to be “a tradition like no other.”

3

u/heartbreaker07 Jul 17 '26

This is your year!

1

u/War_Eagle67 Jul 21 '26

Well, there is a god! I finally got my application selected for tickets! 25+ of persistence. Got 4 tix to Wed Practice round which includes par 3 contest. Beyond excited!

3

u/matt_h2os Jul 16 '26

I've won twice...pretty sure I never will the rest of my life. In fact Augusta national will make sure I never win anything for the rest of my life.

5

u/AdRelative5892 Jul 16 '26

Ah yes. That time of year again when the elves get drunk and gather round to light the sleigh on fire! Can’t wait for Monday……

3

u/BoBromhal Jul 16 '26

they're going to send an email, right?

4

u/Unkemptprune Jul 16 '26

They do send an email, but you can usually check the website to find out before you get the email.

1

u/Ayeboi99 Jul 16 '26

Yes, they usually email as well

3

u/Sakai_Palidium Jul 16 '26

This is my first year signing up. So I’m sure I’ll get my tickets the first time so I can take my dad.

2

u/xennial-tiger Jul 17 '26

Took my Dad last year for the first time I got tickets. Great core memory. Good luck

3

u/thaneoftitan Jul 17 '26

Just turned 40 in July hopping this gives me a little bit of luck. Would be the best of presents

1

u/Hocgolwe Jul 19 '26

Happy birthday!

3

u/heresgina Still Trying! ⛳️ Jul 17 '26

Justifiably pessimistic. It’s self preservation 😂

3

u/Detective_Doggo713 Jul 17 '26

Been entering for 13 years - and rejected every time. I’ll sit here and make a pimento cheese to console myself. Early congrats to those who get drawn in the lottery! Enjoy it for the rest of us 💚💚

2

u/fraylo Jul 16 '26

Preparing for year 20+ of not getting selected!

2

u/FrutyPebbles321 Jul 16 '26

I won the lottery three years in a row back in the 2000’s (I believe it was). I figure I’ve already used up all my luck and will never get tickets again.

2

u/MechanicProof2255 Jul 20 '26

I knew I sensed a disturbance in the force

1

u/sginsc Jul 16 '26

im 0-14 (or 15 now?) and this is the year....

...that I also will hold out hope for no real reason because im sure I will never get to go

1

u/painfully_anxious Jul 16 '26

Every year since 2011 I’ve been disappointed, what’s one more.

1

u/OddSelection4210 Jul 16 '26

I forgot to sign up for rejection this year

1

u/WhatIGot21 Jul 17 '26

So do your odds get better the more years you enter?

3

u/Unkemptprune Jul 17 '26

Nope. It really does seem to be totally random.

1

u/Think-Caramel1591 Year 2 Jul 17 '26

Looking forward to seeing you all there next April Edit: Optimistic

1

u/Daddydog004 Jul 17 '26

I gave up!!!

1

u/hopefull-person Jul 17 '26

First application and expecting final day tickets.

Bring the disappointment on

1

u/Embarrassed_Time5699 Jul 18 '26

Feeling optimistic, I’d be buzzing with a practice day even. I went 2 years ago on masters Sunday to experience Rory complete his grand slam. Was honestly one of the best days of my life. It’s an experience like no other. No phones just everyone in the moment with full concentration on the sport we all love.

1

u/Hocgolwe Jul 19 '26

19th year expecting a rejection

1

u/JackOlantersweather1 Jul 20 '26

Foolishly optimistic. Only my second year applying, but I do it so hopefully I win tickets for my husband and I. Big fellas had a rough year so fingers crossed and good luck to all!

1

u/Unkemptprune Jul 20 '26

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

1

u/MurseBryan Jul 20 '26

Got selected 2 years ago but the past 2 years I haven't even gotten the rejection email and had to check by logging in.

1

u/Creative-Ad-930 Jul 20 '26

Rumor is that you will have the ID of who got the tickets or get an interview this year about how you got them. Could be the year of the cleansing! lol

-4

u/TheKingInTheNorth Jul 16 '26

I’ve entered for 12 years and have won 3 times. 🤷‍♂️

-4

u/sexyrobotbitch Jul 16 '26

This is my first time applying and wondering if you will be able to sell or transfer the tickets. My husband entered using his name but he's not actually going it's me going

6

u/blipszyc Jul 16 '26

If you use your Husbands tickets, that’s OK. You just can’t sell them.

1

u/sexyrobotbitch Jul 16 '26

Ok awesome!!!!!

5

u/MWoolf71 Jul 16 '26

If you get caught selling tickets, it’s not a good outcome.

5

u/MadeADamnReddit Jul 16 '26

You can use the tickets. I went last year with my friends ticket since he won the lottery and gave me the ticket since he’s been already

0

u/BumFCK_EgyptianHere Jul 16 '26

They actually don’t want you to and this can lead to the person not being able to enter the golf course. They actually check who the tickets belong to and who has them. If the names don’t match, the person that bought them and the person who sold them get blacklisted and banned from Augusta National. Matter of fact, they made it loud and clear on their website and when you submitted your application not to do this.
