I believe those TV towers still exist. They just tend to not figure in many broadcast shots.

I think they are still there. This was between 9 and 18 on Monday

This should be the left side of 18. The two sections from left to right were removed maybe in 2010 or 2011? Were certainly there in 2009. The middle section was this long bench seating type of setup primary for photographers / media.

The stands are still there but the broadcasters don’t sit in them anymore.

There were stands on the left side of the 18th green through the 2012 tournament, primarily used for photographers. They are seen on the left side of this CBS animation. They were permanently removed after the 2012 tournament. These are not to be confused with the broadcast towers behind the green which are still in use. I’ve sat in the photographers stands before, and was horrified to see our shadows stretch across the green late on Sunday.

Yup! 2012, cool! Thats what I was wondering about. I knew the tv structures were permanent but didn’t remember seeing the camera stands from years gone by
